I often feel like I'm getting s**t done, when really at the end of the day I realise I've been box ticking,
carried away in a flurry of clicks by my productivity apps and todo list.

I'm sacrificing momentum for satisfaction.
It’s FAKE productivity.

How to check whether you're working on growth tasks or maintenance tasks...

1 Does it decrease the no of hours you have to work?
2 Does it improve your happiness or fulfilment in your life or work?
3 Does it increase the amount of money you make per hours of work?

A second sanity check you should do on every task:

🎂 Fake productivity feels good
🍎 True productivity is uncomfortable

A little sculpture garden for all the s**te we just can't throw away

Latest garden addition.

Inserted a sneaky new path between the grass patch and the Japanese garden,
Interrupted by a stone seating overlooking the key pond view.
Which is hugged by a kidney shaped planter made out of huge ass rocks.
We used the leftover hedges to create privacy.

Also some cute mushroom decor.

It's take your kids to work day for me

Every day I finish work sitting at my desk, look at my Todo list, and worry that there's so much more to do.
feel this way whether knock off early at 2pm, or if I work late to 6pm
So might as well knock off at 2pm and have the extra time with family.

The weird thing?

The less time you have to work, the more important work you get done. Parkinson's law states that work will expand to fill the time you give it.

So if you only have 4 hours a day, you damn well better use it wisely.

So if you've been thinking about cutting some workdays, but you keep telling yourself you'l do it WHEN you've got on top of your to-do list, your fooling yourself.

If you want a 3 day workweek, start only working 3 days a week and figure it out from there. Your systems, mindset and working methods will eventually catch-up
