Trophies are an ancient concept.
Tangible items used to demonstrate achievement and celebrate merit.
The idea runs deeply through almost all aspects of civilisation from battlefields to science and culture.
They allow us to place abstract meaning and share emotion through a physical object.
When creating the trophy for the International Creative Awards, it had to be unlike any we had seen before.
Award trophies are typically clean, sleek, polished, ‘perfect’ and embody a type of aspiration we don’t connect with, which doesn’t represent what the International Creative Awards stand for.
We rejected historical notions of precious metals, ‘scarce’ material value and cast ours by hand in concrete. Concrete for us is raw, honest, limitless. It’s all around us. It can be refined or rugged. It has strength, unexpected beauty and is an unsung hero in our everyday lives.
The form of the trophy is a flower, a symbol of sacred beauty, transience and life but also a representation of resistance and positivity.
Making artistic, creative work in a commercial world is no easy feat. It is an act of resistance and determination.
It demonstrates a belief in the power of beauty, art and creativity, that’s why we founded the International Creative Awards. We believe in the power of art, design and creativity to make the world a better place to be.
This trophy is a monument to that.
Charles Stephen Myatt helped us bring the vision to life by hand-forming and then producing each individual trophy.
Charles is a central figure in the creative community in Scotland, honing his craft with concrete through building skateparks (with and without permission), organising events, forming communities and generally catalysing movement here in Glasgow. We love you Charlie ✊
Every aspect of this collaboration resonates with our mission for the awards.
Congratulations to all 2025 winners.
2026 is now open for entry.
