Cheeky Wee Tumble Dryer...
judging you mixing whites with colours !!!

Condescending refers to someone who speaks or behaves in a patronising way, as if others are somehow beneath them. Condensing, in the world of laundry appliances, refers to a type of tumble dryer that collects water in a container instead of venting it outside.

The word the seller was looking for was 'condensing'. It’s an easy enough slip, but quite a meaningful one.

The image in the advert made it perfectly clear what was for sale, but that doesn’t stop the comments section from descending into a flurry of sarcasm and snide remarks. Comments such as: “Wow, a tumble dryer that judges my laundry choices - how very 2025,” and “I prefer my appliances a little less emotionally superior, thanks.” There’s a fine line between light-hearted teasing and public mockery - and it’s a line that gets crossed often on social media.

A simple mistake can become the main attraction, eclipsing the original message entirely. What might have been a straightforward attempt to sell an appliance can turn into a moment of public embarrassment - it can knock confidence, deter others from sharing, and create a culture of silence rather than support.
