Spreng Thomson is thrilled to announce that Dylan Macdonald has been appointed as an Associate Director for the business.

Starting this month, Dylan takes on the new role and will work alongside the senior management team to support the delivery of our growth strategy for the future, building on 30 years of business success. Dylan joined the team eight years ago, firstly as a Consultant before moving into the Head of Digital role.

We worked with our long-standing client Macfarlane Packaging this month to launch their ground breaking software partnership with Lancaster University. 🤝📦

The development of this new software forms the backbone of their new Packaging Minimiser service which will reduce packaging material use by an average of 15%. The service is available exclusively to Macfarlane customers.

As well as supporting with media activity around the launch, members of the Spreng Thomson team travelled to Macfarlane’s state-of-the-art Innovation Lab near Manchester to create a short film to provide a deeper insight into the benefits of the service and what it means for the business.

Bield, one of Scotland’s largest providers of housing and support services for older people, has launched its new People Strategy 2026-2030 at its AGM in Edinburgh, setting out how it will support and develop colleagues as they work to deliver better outcomes for older people across Scotland. 🏠

Shaped by Bield’s ambition, as well as feedback and aspirations from employees, the strategy recognises the contribution of people in every role, from colleagues working directly with tenants in their homes and communities to those supporting services behind the scenes.

Nicola Ritchie, Bield’s Director of People and Digital, said: “It’s an exciting time as our people deliver Bield’s ambition for independent living for older people across Scotland.

"Our new People Strategy reflects what our colleagues have told us matters to them and recognises the value that comes from the skills, experience and the ideas gained from the people working in many different roles across our communities.

“We want everyone to feel valued, connected and able to help us deliver on Bield’s wider strategic ambition, providing homes and support that will help older people to live well and independently in their own homes for longer."

Spreng Thomson offers fully-funded support in Design Thinking through the Glasgow Business Growth Programme, run by Glasgow City Council. 💡

We recently worked with art and design studio Friends of Wilson through the programme to support the launch and promotion of Linear, the business’s first lighting product.

Using Design Thinking we helped shape a clear and distinctive message around the product, its circular economy principles and its place within the commercial interior sector.

As part of the project, we launched the product on Dezeen, a globally recognised design and architecture magazine, and created a social media campaign showcasing the creation of the product and its features.
