In 10 - Zoom Quick Tips

This is going to be a small test series of quick educational videos all around 10 mins or less.

Production value will go up over time, for now I'm really just practicing what I preach to my clients and I'm trying to limit myself to 1 take so I don't procrastinate over little details trying to get it perfect and also because I'm quite busy with client work as well.

There's a great example in this video towards the end the audio goes a little wonky for a few seconds, it's not ideal but you can still make it out what I'm talking about and in a testing phase it doesn't justify the time to go back and either re-record the whole thing or start dubbing over using video editor software.

Simply put, digital lets you quickly test new things and it doesn't have to be perfect even if my inner perfectionism is telling me... ok shouting at me otherwise - just fight it.

Value is value so as long as the content is good and is of reasonable quality people will respond positively.

Oh and for everyone who doesn't like the idea of being on screen...I hate to break it to you, people you've already met know what you look like anyway. When you walked down a busy street or go into shops, people you didn't know would see you, it's actually not as big a deal as you think.

[Shout Out]

Just a quick shout out to Dell pro support, man they are good. I know some people have some bad experiences but that's 3 times we've needed them over the last 4 years they have been very slick with us.

I got in touch with them yesterday at 3pm, they quickly responded, got to the bottom of the potential issue and arranged an engineer, the engineer arrives today just before 11am to fix my laptop.

To be on the safe side he replaces 2 fans the heatsinks, battery and mousepad runs a diagnostic and is out just after 11:15am with the laptop and me back to work (well typing this up).

I barely had enough time to boot up our back up laptop and start working.

Got to say if you're running a business and something happens to your main machine that's the kind of response you want all day every day! Well worth the extra cost.
