112.8% traffic growth year on year on an already established website 🚀

This client came on board with A1 SEO back in May 2022.
After a slow first month traffic started to pickup modestly in month 2.
Before I start, we did add an additional 232 pages to this website over a 12 month period. That alone was a big needle mover IMO. So take the below with a pinch of salt…
What did we do here:
🫰Money to info ratio
The website was “money content” driven.
“Best” this and “top 10” that.
It was a pure play affiliate site that offered no real value or new content to the internet.
We aimed for a 80/20 info/money split (which is a bit aggressive tbh), publishing 112 informational articles.
Once we had that ratio back under control we returned to publishing money content.
🌍 Topical coverage
We did topical research a bit backwards here, looking at the articles within /paths/ of competing websites to see what we were missing.
But towards the end of 2022 we were able to speed up the research process by using ChatGPT to help with topical research.
One of the more safer and powerful uses of the tool IMO.
This identified new, more logical ways of grouping content together.
📰 Digital PR
One big digital PR campaign.
22 links won.
scotsman[dot]com
dailyrecord[dot]co.uk
stv[dot]tv
…and several other high profile news outlets.
We had a quality project on a content front.
The digital PR campaign really added fuel to the fire.
We saw a big uptick after the launch of this campaign.
Before this we’d also been sending 100+ GENUINE outreach emails a day.
Ignoring DR/DA etc and focusing on traffic and relevancy, with good results.
🤷 Other stuff
Some low key technical fixes and a nav restructure - not really worth mentioning. All about the links and content.

🚀 Affiliate revenues up 327% (focusing on all that “non-money content” isn’t just driving clicks…🧐)
🚀 1349 new keywords on page 1 of Google
🚀 144 new keywords ranking position 1-3 in Google.
