This very bold, vibrant brand wanted to easily add new projects to their site and were currently beholden to their agency to do this. Part of the beauty of working in Wix, is the ability โhand over the keysโ so business owners can manage their own sites themselves negating costs or delays (although Iโm always there if required).
But we went further than just providing a straight rebuild of the existing site in Wix to provide the required functionality- In doing a deeper review of this existing site, I highlighted areas that could make the site work harder, not least on the homepage. Given that 80% of people only ever read the homepage, it needed to communicate the benefits of working with Refuze quickly, cleanly and with impact.
To achieve this, we implemented a few simple but powerful design and structural changes:
โจ๐๐ฒ๐๐ถ๐ด๐ป ๐๐ฎ๐ฟ๐บ๐ผ๐ป๐: I tweaked the design so the text no longer battled for attention with the imagery, and ensuring the bold visuals complemented the wording.
โจ๐๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐๐๐ต๐ผ๐: I gave much more weight to their โDesign. Relate. Create.โ ethos statement throughout the site, making it its own little box out and linking in appropriately throughout.
โจ ๐ฃ๐ผ๐๐ถ๐๐ถ๐๐ฒ ๐ ๐ฒ๐๐๐ฎ๐ด๐ถ๐ป๐ด: I revised negative talk of "worries" which the copy on the page had focused on, turning into positive, easily digestible statements about how Refuze could help.
โจ๐ฃ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐๐ผ๐ป๐ฎ๐น๐ถ๐๐: I used their boxed logo design throughout the site to inject more personality and flavour.
โจ ๐ฆ๐๐ฟ๐ฎ๐๐ฒ๐ด๐ถ๐ฐ ๐ก๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ด๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป: I overhauled the navigation into specific 'sectors' - with a drop-down option directing users straight to specific refurbishment sectors (Restaurant, Cafรฉ, Pub, Shop) to provide increased usability and to lay the groundwork for SEO keyword targeting.
