My mum's getting married, and she asked me to design the stationery.

Wedding invitations, RSVP slips, red roses, script type throughout. She came in knowing exactly what she wanted - which is sometimes the best brief to receive. Clear vision in, clean ex*****on out.

Wedding stationery gets kept. Sometimes framed. It outlasts the day itself - that's not something you forget while you're making it.

Really proud of how these turned out. Really proud of her too🌹 Wishing them both the very best day. Congratulations Mum x

Most branding problems aren’t about how your logo looks or what colours you use.
They’re about decisions.

What do you actually need?

A COSTLY MISTAKE WHICH CHANGED HOW I APPROACH EVERY PROJECT

One project. One breakdown. Every Sunday.

A while back, I designed a takeaway menu for a client. It was my first one - a full menu, both sides - and they needed it the same day.

I said yes.

Because I was new, I wanted the work, and I didn't yet understand that agreeing to an unrealistic deadline is the first place you lose control of a project.

The work got done. Delivered. Ready to go.

The payment never came.

At first I gave it time. Followed up politely. Stayed patient. At that stage, I wanted to be fair - and I trusted the process.

But here's what I learned:
The problem wasn't the client. It was my process. I was operating on goodwill instead of structure - and goodwill isn’t a business model. Structure is. I'd delivered the work before any real commitment was in place. That's not a client problem. That's a systems problem, and it was mine to fix.

So I fixed it.
Every project now starts with:
* 50% deposit before anything gets opened
* A signed agreement on both sides
* Clear expectations from day one

Not to create friction - but to create clarity. When everyone knows where they stand from the beginning, everything runs better. Clients are more committed. The work is stronger. There are no surprises at the end.

Lessons like this are never ideal when they happen. But they shape how you grow.

This one made my business better.

Falkland Trail Runners came to me for club shirt designs. Almost every member bought both.

Since then I've designed their championship medals, trophies, event posters, and race souvenirs.
