In Memory of Rob Wallace
It is with great sadness that I share the news that my friend, mentor and former employer, Rob Wallace, passed away last week.
It has been incredibly difficult to comprehend. Those who knew Rob will appreciate what a huge character he was, and our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with Jackie, his wife, and all of Rob’s family at this very difficult time.
Rob took me on as a junior salesperson some 30 years ago, and from the very beginning he became someone I admired, respected and looked up to. Over the years he became far more than a boss — he was a mentor, a friend and someone who had a huge influence on both my business life and the person I became.
Eight years ago, when Rob retired, he gave me the incredible honour and opportunity of taking over Severn Signs. His faith in me meant more than I could ever put into words. Even after retiring, his advice, encouragement and support never stopped, and he took great pride in seeing Severn Signs continue to grow and develop.
I will always be grateful for the opportunities Rob gave me, the lessons he taught me and, most importantly, for his friendship over more than 30 years.
Rob, you were one of a kind. A true character who made a lasting impression on so many people and who will never be forgotten.
You will be truly missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing you.
Rest peacefully, Rob. You’ve earned it.
Thank you for everything.
