This is the face I pull when I truly believe I've NAILED IT!

🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘

Yesterday, I was creating graphics for my new client and I realised I made a silly mistake 🤦‍♀️

I had their story finding information, their brand guidelines and their website up in front of me... I thought I had everything...

But! I didn't 😬

So, because I believed I did, I started creating graphics to go alongside the content I had just written for them 🎨

I created a bank of images, aligned it with the text and set it all up ready for them to see and review it today 🧐

Then I sat back to review my work with a satisfied smug grin and a delicious cup of coffee ☕️

Only for the realisation to then hit me 🤯

Not once when creating their graphics had I looked at and analysed the images they had already put out on their socials 😱

A process I'm usually so meticulous about 🫣 but because my new onboarding process made me feel like I completely "got them" I'd skipped it!

In a panic I hastily put down the coffee and dove onto their current profiles to review their graphics and content 📱

I was absolutely overjoyed to see that my graphics and content perfectly aligns with what they are already showing 🥳🥳🥳🥳

So much so that I pulled this "I absolutely NAILED IT" face and snapped a picture 😜🤘

Now I just have to hope the client thinks the same when I show them their content preview later today 🤞

Every day is a school day, right?

👩‍🏫👩‍🏫👩‍🏫👩‍🏫👩‍🏫

Well it definitely was for me yesterday 😁

I headed to one of my local schools to explore a new opportunity for the students and staff 😍

I'm delighted to say it went well and I will soon be delivering workshops with students to help them use and understand social media better 😁

One of my biggest goals is to strip negativity from social media 🏆

The only way I can see that happening is to flood it with positivity until there is no space for negativity to exist 💜

But I can't do it alone... so I will help others to understand how they can be a part of that positive flood 🌊

And starting with students, teenagers and pre-teens just seems like a logical, practical step in my fight against the negativity 💪

The thing about running a business that I love is...

I get to do things because people ask me for them 😁

Last year I launched my Creating with Canva course because people kept asking for my help with Canva 😊

Earlier this year I was being asked by many people if I could show them the basics of Instagram 📱

Not the in depth stuff 🚫
Not the strategy and content creation bits 🚫

The basics...

The terminology and what it means ✅️
How to search and get acquainted with the app ✅️

So, I decided to do it.

And because so many people asked me for it, I decided to turn it into a webinar and offer it for FREE 😍

Yep. Free to everyone.

Because if one person is asking for it, there could be 50 people who are too shy to ask and admit they need the same help 🥰

I get so excited when this happens!

🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩

Yesterday I received a signed contract from a brand new client 🙌 and we had our story-finding call 📞

I recently updated my onboarding process and this is the first time Ive been able to use it on a brand new client 😍

So far, I am absolutely loving it! 💜

Rather than sending them a load of paperwork for them to fill in and return to me, I decided I needed something far more human 😊

Now I offer a Story-Finding Call. Same questions I would ask in the paperwork, but on a recorded call 💻

This allowed my new client to intersperse stories and snippets of their past that I fully intended on using in their content 🥳

I got far more from it that any paperwork I could have sent them and now, I get to create some truly magical pieces of content that will get their story flying 🧚‍♀️

I'm so excited to be working with this client 😁 I can't stop smiling 🥳

"Please do not post photos on social media"

😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

Words I heard on Saturday that made my heart break 💔

Because you know I've been talking about it for a while and I was so excited to show you everything 😍

But as we arrived there was a request made that no photos get posted on social media from my day at the Royal Tox 🚫🤳

I was allowed to take photos 📸

I just can't post them here ⛔️

Which I understand 😇 and as I don't wish to upset the society (I respect and admire them) I will abide by 😊

So, here is a photo of me in the car as we left the hotel on the way to the competition 😉

It was a glorious day and I had so many amazing moments that I will look back on with a great big cheesy grin on my face 😁

I got a PB in my archery score 🏹
I spoke and laughed with some amazing archers 🏹
I managed to avoid looking like a lobster after a day in the baking hot sunshine 🌞 🦞

And I have an invitation to return 😉

Today is THE day!!!

🏹🏹🏹🏹🏹

I'm off to the Royal Tox for a very prestigious competition 🥇🥈🥉

I feel very under prepared for today as I only managed a couple of practice shoots at the distances I'll be competing at (80, 60 and 40 yards) 😬

But today is not about a perfect archery score... today is about enjoying the moment 🤩 and doing my best nomatter the outcome of the competition 😁

I am honoured to have been invited to shoot at the Royal Tox 😍 for those who didn't see my previous post about it; it's the longest running archery club in the UK and it's invite only to attend! 🤯

If I make a good impression I may be invited to come back... and after 3 invitations to visit you ✨️MAY✨️ be invited to join them 🤯

It's an amazing opportunity for this professional badass 😉

And, of course, I have a stack of business cards with me 😆 you never know who I might meet!

Wish me luck in the competition 🍀 I have a feeling I'll need it 🤞

Why did I do it?

🫣🫣🫣🫣🫣

Why did I post about my views on trans rights on social media? It has nothing to do with you running a business as a social media manager...

Yes, genuinely, I have been asked this. Thankfully, I know the person well and know that they asked from a place of curiosity, not as an attack ⚔️

And the answer is very simple: I have a strong value set and that's what makes me, me 🤩

💜 I want to work with people who share my values 💜

I can't find those people if I dont share my values and my beliefs 🧭

When you share a post like I did the other day, the people who strongly ✨️DON'T✨️ share those values, remove themselves from your page 😊 natural selection 😉

And I wished the ones who left mine a very strong farewell 👋👋👋👋👋

Will I miss them? Nope.

Because I'm not online to be liked by everyone... but I am online to connect with people who share my values and who want to work with me 🥰

The fact that my post has made a friend feel like she can talk to me about her trans child is worth more than I can say 😍 🏳️‍⚧️

And, to the troll who saw my post and decided to private message me some hate... Hello 👋 I see you too with your burner account that's been set up just to spread your hate and I didn't crumble under it 💪

Your hatred only poisons you! ☠️

That's why I shared that post, because sharing my values shows me who shares them and who I want to work with 😍

I had planned to share a post with you today about how I will be working in the garden, enjoying the sunshine...

A post about how I always feel more creative when working outside creating content, writing new courses, responding to messages 😎

But I find myself unable to post about such things in light of what I have seen over the weekend and past few weeks 💔

Let me be perfectly clear, I am an advocate for trans rights 🏳️‍⚧️

Trans women are WOMEN 🚺
Trans men are MEN 🚹

I have NEVER felt threatened by a trans woman.
(I have been threatened by evil people)

I have NEVER felt unsafe in the presence of a trans woman.
(I have felt unsafe in the presence of cruel people)

I have NEVER been followed maliciously by a trans man.
(I have been followed by nasty, vicious people)

There are so many things that have never happened to me because of trans men and women but have happened to me from people who were cruel, malicious, and hurtful.

If you think the things that are happening to trans people is about your safety, you need to look harder.

It's never been about safety 🚫

It's about control.

Taking away trans rights isnt about keeping us (cis gendered women) safe. It's about controlling trans people.

It's about controlling your fear and directing it at them.

And I won't stay silent about it anymore 🤐

To my trans men and women friends, I am so sorry that this is all happening to you... being done to you... being forced on you 💔 my heart breaks for you 😢

Know that I am with you and I do not agree with what the governments and haters are doing 🏳️‍⚧️

Trans rights are human rights 😘

Spare a thought for me teaching archery in a heavy medieval dress at Hedingham Castle today! 🏹

Yesterday was boiling and today is set to be hotter 🥵

My brain has already started turning to mush this morning as a result of the heat 😂 (ask me about that later when the shame and embarrassment leave me)

Perhaps words will cease to have any meaning by tomorrow when I'm back at my desk writing content for clients 🫣

Only time will tell! ⌚️

Happy World Goth Day!

As a pre-teen I discovered rock and metal music and I was hooked. I can remember being told off by my primary school teachers for singing Papa Roach's Last Resort in the playground at lunch 🫣

As a teenager I found I gravitated towards black and alternative clothing 🖤

I loved it!

But I was constantly told that I'd never get a "good" career if I wore that type of clothing 😢

And my biggest teenage regret is that I never bought the highly sought after black lipstick 💄

So I left my alternative clothes behind as I headed into my corporate career 💔

When I started working in social media marketing, I discovered the power of personal brand...

"Just be you"
"Authenticity"
"Be your brand"

And it meant I could return to the alternative and gothic clothing that I loved so much in my youth 😍

Changing my wardrobe has been a slow process, and it's not fully complete... but it's more me than it was when I worked for others 🤘

Long live the inner goth!
