One thing I’ve learned while using Power BI at work.

Is that good analysis isn’t about adding more visuals, it’s about delivering clear answers.

A strong dashboard should:

- Answer a specific question
- Be easy to understand in seconds
- Avoid unnecessary visuals

More charts don’t automatically mean more insight. The real value comes from clarity and purpose.

As someone preparing for data analyst roles, I’ve realised every dashboard project teaches me something new from storytelling with data to thinking from a business perspective.

I’m still improving, but each project gets me closer to creating dashboards that truly support decision-making.

SQL vs Python for Data Analysts — here’s my report from UK job roles.

Most people say: Learn Python to become a data analyst.

But job descriptions tell a slightly different story.

SQL:
• Used daily in real business environments
• Essential for extracting and working with data
• Required in most entry-level roles

Python:
• Great for automation and deeper analysis
• Useful for handling complex datasets
• Often a nice to have at junior level

My takeaway:
SQL gets you in the door.
Python helps you grow faster once you’re in.

I’m still analysing both but focusing on what the market actually demands.
