WordPress, Shopify, Wix, Squarespace, Webflow… there are plenty of ways to build a website, but there isn’t one perfect platform for every business.

We’ve written a short blog on how to choose the right option for your website, your team, your budget and your future plans, with a little bit on why we often favour WordPress with Elementor Pro for SME clients.

Read it here: puzzle-comms.com/blogs or visit us using the link in our bio.

After 20+ years in marketing (and endless new technology), this still matters most.

People want to feel understood. They don’t want to be baffled by jargon, pushed into things they don’t need, or made to feel like just another lead on a spreadsheet.
They want to feel that someone genuinely gets their business, understands what’s not working, and can help them move things forward in a way that feels sensible and achievable.

The tools have changed. The platforms have changed. The noise has definitely increased. But clarity, trust and good relationships still matter most.

It’s easy to get distracted by the latest trend or shiny new tactic, but more often than not, the real difference comes from listening properly, thinking carefully and delivering consistently good work.

That’s been true for the last 20+ years, and we can’t see that changing anytime soon.

What would you add to the list?

Nothing could be more true.

When small businesses get stuck with social media, it’s usually because they’re trying to invent something new every week. A simple structure makes it much easier.

A content calendar doesn’t need to be complicated - it just needs to reflect the conversations you’re already having with customers.

We’re excited to say that Puzzle has recently launched a new website for Southside School Sports.

Southside do brilliant work getting children active, confident and properly engaged in sport and their brief was clear: make it easy for schools and parents to understand what they offer with a simple structure, clear messaging and something that feels professional, encouraging and approachable.

It’s always a joy to work with organisations making a real difference behind the scenes.

Have a look and let us know what you think?

We never take words like this lightly — they mean a lot.

Behind every project is a business owner juggling a hundred things, so if we can make the marketing feel clearer, calmer and more confident (while hitting your deadlines), then we’ve done our job properly.

If your online presence doesn’t quite match the quality of what you do anymore, let’s have a conversation. Nothing dramatic. Just sensible, strategic marketing that works.

We’d really love to help.

Here’s what some small businesses get wrong.

A business invests in a rebrand, but what they really needed was clearer positioning.

Brand isn’t about looking different - it’s about being understood.

When people instantly “get” what you do and who it’s for, marketing stops feeling like wading through treacle.
That’s what changes things.

More posts won’t fix a fuzzy message. More ads won’t rescue a weak offer. More content won’t solve confused positioning.

If people don’t immediately understand:
• who you’re for • what you actually do • why it matters • what to do next
… adding volume just amplifies the blur.

Clear marketing is disciplined.
Before you spend more, post more, launch more —ask whether your message is doing the heavy lifting.

Because growth rarely comes from “more.” It comes from sharper.
