Well done The Canopy Community Hub ….. fantastic work within the community!
Ironically it's Autumn and we're adding leaves to a tree but please read and we shall explain! 🍁🍃🍂
The Canopy on Grant Thorold Park in Grimsby has become a safe place, a warm space and a sanctuary to many locals within the East Marsh community.
We not only provide food to people, mainly children, who do not have enough but we also offer activities and events that enhance mental and physical well-being and attempt to tackle loneliness amongst the elderly and the vulnerable .
Last winter we introduced our Brown Paper Bag Project which enabled us to provide over 5000 meals and portions of fruit and vegetables to people in need utilising Government funding. When the winter ended, the funding ended and so free food could no longer be regularly supplied. These vulnerable groups did not stop being hungry, lonely or cold just because the season changed.
We are on a mission to address this and ensure essential support is provided throughout the year, not just the winter, but to do so we are requesting the help of 120 businesses...(120 due to Grant Thorold Park turning 120 years old this year🥳🎂)
A 6ft Canopy logo tree has been installed within our community space and 120 leaves will adorn the tree displaying logo's of 120 businesses and this super supportive bunch from The Canopy's Nexus BNI networking group were the first to add theirs and show their support in helping children, the elderly and the vulnerable eat, stay warm, tackle loneliness and make friends.
We're super excited to get this project off the ground and hope many other businesses will join in and show their support by purchasing one of the Logo Leaves!
Thank you Nexus BNI Grimsby - Business Networking you are helping to make a huge difference in our community and collectively your donations alone will enable us to provide free children's breakfasts from now until Christmas Eve 🥰🎄
