It’s giving 2024 Wonka experience.

It wasn’t quite what I expected from the imagery advertising the event, but am I surprised?! Nope.

If you’ve no choice to use AI then please make sure that the event, food, products or whatever you’re advertising matches.

We were looking around for a big wooden steam train & carriage, had to ask where to find it, and turns out the small train we walked past at the entrance (which I thought was separate) was what we were looking for.

I will caveat this with the fact that my twins still had fun but it definitely was not what we expected, at all.

I couldn’t not share as, if you don’t know by now, I have a strong dislike towards AI imagery and this just cements it even more for me!

Probably an unpopular opinion… but I said what I said!

Scrolling through socials and every other post is created with AI - the image is AI, the caption is AI - and as a graphic designer, I’m tired.

at this point, I’d rather see Comic Sans, Papyrus or, hell, even Curlz MT used 😅 at least then your audience will know that you’ve put a bit of thought and emotion into your marketing rather than a prompt into AI which throws back to you a busy “design” with no typographical hierarchy and a mass of icons and banners with way too much information on.

People are beginning to notice and they’re getting the ick (I’ve seen the comments!) - they’re wondering where else you’re cutting corners. so let’s get back to being more human again, jump onto Word or Canva has lots of free templates to use too.

And if you’re not sure about what you’re doing with a design, I’d be more than happy to share my advice and help guide you in the right direction with it 🩷

And of course, I’m here too if you need a graphic designer!

From school days to wedding days 🎙️ 💒 it was a full circle moment when an old school friend got in touch to ask if I could design an advert for her, it was my pleasure! 😍

ROSANNA - SINGER – EVENTS | WEDDINGS is a talented live wedding & events singer, and I’m loving being part of the growth of her business! We’ve potentially got a few more projects together that we’re going to discussing this week, so watch this space….

So if you’re after a versatile singer for your event, I definitely recommend the lovely Rosie! She’ll also be performing at Ripley Rocks Ripley Rocks Festival in a couple of weeks time - which we’ll be at too so I can’t wait to see her sing live! 🎤 🎵

Joyful June moments… I mean the heatwave was truly awful (am I right?!) but here are some snapshots of the good times!

Work wise, i started two new websites for clients (a local counsellor and a singing duo), created a new brand for a sleep consultant, designed a poster and car magnet for local driving school, did work for two school friends (wedding invitations & an a4 wedding advert for a singer), and more!! Wow seeing it all down like that makes me feel quite proud of what I’ve achieved & the business I’m building! 🩷

“I want a logo that doesn’t look like it’s straight out of Canva”… so with that, and some other details, this was my brief to create a logo for Nina Garcia - The Holistic Sleep Coach 🌙

She wanted something subtle, with a little quirk but keeping it classy - I sent over 3-4 alternative ideas and she loved and picked this one straight away! 🥰 what a feeling, for her and for me also!!

It was a gorgeous logo to create - let me know your thoughts below!
