WHY BLACK ISN'T EVERYONE'S BEST FRIEND

A controversial question… is black really your best colour?
Black is often seen as safe, slimming and easy, but for many people, it is not actually their most flattering colour. 

Sometimes it can make shadows look stronger or leave the complexion looking tired.

Black is fabulous on some people, but Its definitely not my colour, even as a neutral.  It makes me look washed out and older, for neutrals I am much better in cream and navy.

When you discover your best colours, you often realise there are shades that feel softer, fresher and far more harmonious. If you suit black, great, if not I will find your ‘Better than Black’….

That does not mean giving up what you love.

It means understanding what works best for you.

And that knowledge can completely change how you shop.

What a pleasure it was to welcome Linn and Matt into the studio yesterday for a Colour Analysis together.
Linn discovered she is a beautiful rich, vibrant brightly coloured Autumn, while Matt was revealed to be a wonderful Winter, with lots of dark sultry colours. It is always fascinating to see how different colours bring people to life, enhancing their natural features and allowing them to look healthy, confident and effortlessly put together. It was so nice for them both to have such a different colour palette.
One of the things I love most is when couples choose to invest in themselves together. In the busyness of life, work, family and endless to do lists, how often do we actually take time to do something that benefits us both for years to come?
Colour Analysis is about so much more than clothes. It gives you the knowledge and confidence to make better choices, whether you are building a professional wardrobe for work, choosing outfits for social occasions or simply wanting to feel your best every day.

It was such a pleasure and privilege to welcome the lovely Rachel for her colour analysis recently. And what a joy to discover she is a truly gorgeous Autumn.

There is something so special about seeing that moment when the right colours come to life and suddenly everything makes sense. Rich, warm and glowing Autumn shades brought out Rachel’s natural beauty beautifully.

This is what Rachel kindly shared afterwards:

It was wonderful to have Mel from Poppies Cattery at the studio for a colour analysis session today. Mel turned out to be a gorgeous Autumn, so she has a whole new palette of rich warm earthy colours to wear. Beautiful chestnuts, greens, corals and marine and kingfisher blues... We found all of Mel's perfect makeup colours and then looked at her WOW colours, the shades to buy those special outfits and items in. Have you thought of having your colours done? Its liberating, confidence building, informative and fun. It allows you to build a coordinated, hard working wardrobe. When are you going to book?
