It’s been a while since I’ve shared a “professional” post seeing as my freelance work time is more limited, but I’ve really enjoyed supporting Helen Longmuir with social media ideas and website copy over the past few months.

I particularly appreciated working in person together - nothing really can replace being in the same room and bouncing ideas off each other, or taking a lunchtime walk and talk in the grounds of Dunrobin Castle for a screen break!

It’s been a while since my poor neglected blog had some attention, but seeing some new food trucks and takeaway traders popping up in the North Highlands recently prompted me to update one of my posts!

There’s now over 35 traders mentioned, popping up everywhere from Moray to Caithness, Orkney, Inverness and more!

Do send me a message if you’d like to share a favourite foodie find or include your business on the post! My criteria for inclusion is that traders either travel or ‘pop up’ to serve takeaway in various locations or have shared indoor/outdoor seating if trading from a fixed location. Check the blog post (linked in the comments) to see which area location you’re best placed in!

👋🏼 It’s been a while Facebook!

Much of my life is spent writing; whether that’s blogs, social media content or press releases. Combined with a pretty tricky personal year with a few life changes, I haven’t had much headspace for my own businesses social media. At points I’ve felt embarrassed and even guilty for not walking the talk of social media marketing - but we all have our limits and I have had to take the advice that I would kindly give to someone else who felt they couldn’t do it all.

On the flip side I have been productive on the unseen things - delivering projects for my employers and clients to a high standard and I’m ending the year seeing good results and happy colleagues.. and enjoyed it all in the process which is nothing to be underestimated!

I’m especially delighted with this feedback from a new client I’ve been working with since the summer, writing website and blog content.

Going into next year I’m considering what direction A Highland Blend will take - I’m definitely not going anywhere but to give it a good mulling over, my availability will be limited in the first quarter of 2025.

I was initially questioning my life choices yesterday when I returned from holiday to work on a Friday…

But I actually found it really helpful in clearing emails, doing some finance admin and getting organised for the next few weeks!

Saturdays are normally a meeting free day but it was good this morning to help a new client with some planning, and prep for a Monday meeting, leaving time for life admin and an afternoon at the County Show!

I’m south visiting family in Essex at the moment, but you can always find a reminder of home somewhere!
