From Prototype To Product
What does it take to turn a clever mechanism into a product people actually want?

For Le Shuffler, it meant taking an already-developed core mechanism and pushing it further, creating a product that was not only desirable, but commercially viable, environmentally responsible and ready for market.

Got a great idea? Are you ready to be challenged?
You don't need another opinion. You need to be presented with the right design challenges.

Sometimes you don't need someone to tell you your idea is brilliant.
You need someone to work through it with you.

That's one of the things we've learnt from more than 25 years of developing products at Bang.

We really need to get to the heart of the problem and specify the design challenges that need to be overcome.

Some of the questions we will ask are;
- Who is it for?
- What problem does it really solve?
-Can it be made at the right price?

That's the thinking behind our Design Compass Deep Dive.
On 21 September, a maximum of nine people will bring their own projects to the British Library and work through the challenges with an experienced product designer.
You'll leave with better questions, clearer priorities and a better understanding of your next move.

Many businesses have excellent customer service, but their brand and communication does not always convey that they do effectively enough.
So that’s exactly what we focused on with P*P.

Not just “making the website look better.”

But rebuilding the entire experience around clarity, trust, and usability.
Because when someone lands on your platform, they’re asking themselves 3 things immediately:

“Do they do what I need?”
“Do they do it well?”
“How quickly can I get what I need?”

We worked closely with P*P to redesign both the website and app experience so users could instantly understand the value, navigate confidently, and engage without friction.

Creating
• Clearer messaging
• Simpler structure
• More intuitive UX
• Cleaner UI
• Stronger engagement flow

The result: was a platform that doesn’t just look good but it performs, and the results since launch speak for themselves.

We’ve all used a website or app that instantly felt easy to trust and it’s no coincidence that the fastest-growing companies are the ones thinking beyond the tech and are focusing in on delighting their customers.
So are we.

Nominated!

It's always exciting to see products you've helped bring to life receive industry recognition.

We're delighted to hear that The Turning Tot Changing Mat has been shortlisted for the Absolutely Mama Awards 2026! 🏆

This project was a fantastic example of how great products are built through testing, iteration, and attention to detail.

Extensive testing with wriggling tots helped evaluate and refine the design, ensuring it worked in the real world for both parents and babies. Material selection was equally important, with the mat needing to be comfortable, durable, and easy to wipe clean for everyday hygiene.

Beyond the design and development, we worked closely with the founders to cost the product with manufacturers, navigate compliance testing with SGS, and support the journey all the way through to production and factory ordering.

Seeing the product now being recognised is a wonderful reward for all the hard work that went into bringing it to market.

Good luck to everyone exhibiting at New Designers!

Over the years at Bang, we've had the pleasure of meeting and working with many design graduates. Some have joined our team, while others have been friends, family members, placement students, or collaborators starting out on their design journey.

For those exhibiting this year, enjoy every moment.

New Designers is a real rite of passage. It's an opportunity to showcase months (or years!) of hard work, receive valuable feedback, make industry connections, and build confidence in your work.

Not everyone will leave with a job offer and that's okay. The conversations you have, the people you meet, the inspiration you gain, and the exposure your work receives can be just as valuable. You never know which connection might lead to your next opportunity.

Best of luck to every designer exhibiting we hope it's the start of an exciting career.

Here it is again!!

World Oceans Day shines a spotlight on protecting our oceans, covering more than 70% of the Earth’s surface and playing a critical role in climate regulation, oxygen production, and food security.

Ando perfectly represents what sustainable design should strive for, a product designed for use in the oceans, with genuine care for the oceans throughout its journey from concept to production.

Projects like this remind us that design has the power to create products that not only perform well but also respect and protect the environments they depend on.

So no apologies for sharing this one again.
