Established in 1946 by Jimmy ‘The Printer’ Richardson, the company started out from premises at Dovemount Place and remained there until 2001 when we moved to the old Hawick News building in Lochpark Industrial Estate. From here we continue to offer a range of professional printing and finishing services to the public and trade. The running of the business continued with Murray Richardson taking o

ver when his father retired, expanding as required over the years. Now run by Murray, his wife Ebie and their son Jamie, the business has grown from strength to strength with 3 other employees. David Finnie, one of our printers, has worked with us for over 35 years; Robert Scott, our Graphic Design and Pre-Press Operator; and Judith Sheridan, our Secretary and Book keeper. We pride ourselves on the service and quality we offer our customers, old and new.

10 years ago this week, a fresh-faced, geeky young laddie walked through our doors at Richardson & Son Printers.

He’s had quite the journey – even picking up Print Scotland’s Overall Apprentice of the Year in 2018.

Over the years, he’s become a huge part of the team – skilled, dependable, and always up for a challenge… whether that’s running the machines, designing jobs, or sorting problems.

From learning the ropes to mastering the craft, it’s been some journey – and we’re proud to have him with us.

After 10 years, one thing hasn’t changed… he’s still very much a geek – just now he’s our Print Geek. A far more experienced (and slightly less fresh-faced) version!

Thanks for 10 years of hard work, loyalty, and plenty of laughs. Here’s to the next 10… although we suspect the geekiness is here to stay!
