Another week, another Skill Electric heat ⚡️

This time we were in Kent, which meant Ruby got to come along and see what happens behind the scenes at one of the heats a little closer to home.

It’s been great travelling around the country capturing these events, but it was nice to have one on our doorstep for a change!

Social media isn’t a “nice to have” anymore - for most businesses, it’s your digital shop front.

It’s often the first place people go to decide whether they trust you or not.

Think about it… If you’re about to spend £30k on a kitchen, are you choosing the business with the outdated website and inconsistent socials, or the one that looks active, professional and easy to trust?

You already know the answer.

That’s the difference good marketing makes... and it’s the same decision your customers are making about you.

If your socials aren’t reflecting your business properly, it might be time to change that.

Week 3 of the Skill Electric heats! ⚡️

This week took Ryan over to Northern Ireland, capturing more of the competition and everything happening behind the scenes.

Every heat has been great to film so far, and it’s been brilliant seeing the level of skill and effort from everyone involved.

Looking forward to next week already… and a slightly shorter journey with the heats being a bit closer to home in Kent!

“We boosted a few posts… nothing happened.”

This is where a lot of businesses go wrong, because boosting posts isn’t the same as running proper ads.

Without the right targeting, structure and strategy behind it, it’s unlikely to bring in the results you’re hoping for.

When ads are set up properly, they can be one of the most effective ways to generate enquiries.

Come behind the scenes with Ryan at the College of West Anglia as he films one of the Skill Electric 2026 heats! ⚡️

This marks the start of the Skill Electric heats for 2026, and after working with NET on some of the events last year, it’s great to now be trusted to capture content across all of them this time around - that kind of trust means a lot.

The heats are taking place all over the UK, so we’ve got a busy couple of months ahead… plenty of travelling, filming, early mornings, and a lot of content to capture along the way.

“We tried social media… it didn’t work.”

This is something we hear a lot, and most of the time it comes down to how it’s being used.

Posting every now and then, without much of a plan behind it, isn’t going to bring in results on its own.

When social media is done properly, consistently, and as part of a wider strategy, it can be a really powerful tool for growth.
