Studio Stanley

Studio Stanley Pretty doesn’t guarantee profits – a brand that communicates with your best customers 24/7 does.

Studio Stanley was founded by Mark Wójcicki in 2011 and has built a reputation for helping businesses create strong brand identities. Our process starts by researching your business; its DNA, its customer base, the markets it operates in, the challenges it faces. Then we create brand concepts that position your business clearly according to your chosen market. We see the logo as the focal point of

your brand identity – it plays a vital role in creating a connection with your prospects and existing customers. To work effectively your logo has to resonate with your target market both visually and verbally. Then we create the rest of the identity with the intelligent use of the visual: colour, typography, graphic elements and the verbal: straplines, content writing and marketing. These all play a critical role in creating a successful brand identity. With Studio Stanley your brand is in safe hands – consider us part of your marketing team and watch it flourish.

Print extends the reach of your digital brand and, used together, increases your marketing impact.

What is it that makes print so compelling?
• Tangible: it’s durable and occupies ‘real estate’ on a client’s desk, bookshelf or display rack.
• Credible: print media confers legitimacy on a brand – unique and long-lasting, it creates a distinct marketing angle to help you stand out from the crowd.
• Engaging: in an age where websites are skimmed in less than five seconds and email inboxes are constantly overflowing, good print media commands and holds a reader’s attention.

Get in touch today and let’s do great marketing together.

“I’m really pleased with how Mark took the brief and put it onto paper – it has made the delivery of the Boats Not Bars programme so much more impactful.”

Debate reignites about revamping the damaged interior.

Maurice Culot, a Paris-based architect and critic, told the Daily Telegraph it was “as if Disney were entering Notre-Dame”.
“What they are proposing to do to Notre-Dame would never be done to Westminster Abbey or Saint Peter’s in Rome,” he said. “It’s a kind of theme park and very childish and trivial given the grandeur of the place.”

Church officials involved in planning the renovation say that the changes will help explain Christianity to the cathedral’s millions of annual visitors in a more accessible way.

Your brand may not be on the same level as a certain Paris cathedral, but your branding needs to be relevant to your core audience without descending into gaudy images aimed at the lowest common denominator.

If you are looking for a branding studio that seeks to understand your business and create design that creates growth take a look at us.

Can design save the world?

Is design more of a help or hinderance in this matter? Can it save the world, can it stop the war? The answer is no it can’t, but it can help. The placards of protest against the Russians and its war in Ukraine show the power of graphic design to galvanise support and encourage people to act.

Our contributions towards the conflict in Ukraine can often seem frustratingly modest but nothing is ever insignificant. A friend and client of mine recently took medical supplies to the Polish-Ukrainian border and his friend left a truck behind for the army to use at the front. My wife and I can’t host refugees but we can volunteer in other ways.

The world wide web and social media are supposed to have killed off print.

But it’s still very much alive. Here’s why:

1. Print engages people better than digital
“The (supposedly dying) print edition still outperforms the (supposedly hopeful) digital product by almost every standard, be it readership, engagement, advertising revenue...”
Iris Chyi, University of Texas Associate Professor and New Media Researcher

2. Print marketing earns more trust
According to data 56% of all consumers trust print marketing more than any other type of communication.

3. Print elicits an emotional response
Studies have shown that physical materials generate greater feelings of emotion in our brains.

Studio Stanley’s reputation is built on experience in print
You name it – annual reports, brochures, advertising, catalogues, stationery – we’ve been there and done it. Whatever your project, you can trust our studio to deliver on brief, budget, and deadline.

Fresh brand identity for established marine fuel specialists

“We are delighted with our new brand identity – it does exactly what we had set out in our brief...and more!”

James Hills, Managing Director, Lindsay Blee

Established in 1959, Lindsay Blee has grown from a humble bunker broker to a trusted physical supplier, trader, and broker of marine fuels across the globe.

Brief
The management of Lindsay Blee wanted a new brand identity. Their previous website had become more of an information page and no longer adequately communicated their professional identity.

Ears open
Studio Stanley spent a lot of time at the outset listening to Lindsay Blee’s requirements and, consequently, decided to bring in a copywriter to help craft their website messaging.

Once the website copy was in a suitably advanced state, Studio Stanley engaged a website developer to build the framework and provide Lindsay Blee with a visual reference, to enable them to see how the website would work in practise.

Delivery
Throughout the website creation process, Studio Stanley was the constant link between the third parties (copywriter and website developer) and Lindsay Blee, to address client concerns and ensure that that the project kept moving forwards towards delivery.

If you need new branding that really sells your brand get in contact today.

Drawing is like walking on a cliff edge

Luis Mendo, a Spanish illustrator, lives and works in Tokyo and creates gorgeous pen, ink and watercolour drawings that hark back to a former time. He attributes the style to drawing on the move:

“Navigating the busy streets of Tokyo necessitated a care-free, adaptable approach and light equipment.

“I learned to appreciate the quality of an imperfect line and the poor control I had over the results. Many happy lines were made by the train suddenly speeding up or someone bumping into my arm.”

”I was really impressed with the way that Mark worked with me, drawing out what I wanted to keep from the previous version of the logo and understanding what was important to me about the final design.

”I was also impressed with how he introduced new concepts and ideas to me; never imposing his preferences on me, yet making it clear why he thought his ideas were valid.”

The life of a logo and a top-notch offer

What do you call an urban dog training business? How about You’re so fetch?

Fetch is a slang term Mean Girls’ Gretchen Wieners, played by Lacey Chabert, often uses meaning ‘nice’, ‘desirable’, or ‘cool’.

Tina Fey, the show’s writer, explains the origins of fetch:

“I did some research and I sat down with some neighborhood teens, and I was asking them about slang and I just started thinking, ‘Oh, whatever I put in the movie now, by the time the movie gets made, it will be over, so just make up something fake.’

“Fetch just short for the word fetching was appealing so I just made it up.”

As a new venture You’re so fetch needed a logo:
It made sense to use an image of a dog – but what kind, an illustration or a photograph?
I chose an illustration based on a single line as it hints at a lead and the journey that a client takes with the help of You’re so fetch.

For the main typeface I used ALS Schlange Sans, designed by Olga Umpeleva.
It’s got a long f (and I made it even longer) which, again, reminded me of a lead.

Next post: why did I use those colours and the branding is elementary, my dear Watson.

Our very special logo offer
Starting at £75 and going up to £250, our logo offer gives you online & print versions and an half-an-hour preliminary briefing session.

Why wait? Go for it.

The Art and Power of Graphic Design

“What exactly do you do?” is a question I am often asked. I usually reply “I design websites, branding, logos and brochures”.

Graphic design is a vital part of marketing

“Marketing is the most important thing that you do in business today, even if your job title doesn’t have the word marketing in it.

“That’s because marketing is concerned with attracting customers, getting them to buy, and making sure they are happy enough with their purchase that they come back for more.

Studio Stanley Case Study: ZippSlip

Say goodbye to all that paper
ZippSlip was established in 2012 by two computer system developers who were frustrated by the volume and repetitive nature of school paperwork.

Designed from the outset to work on smart phones and tablets, ZippSlip allows schools to send out all their parental forms digitally.

ZippSlip is used by over a million people throughout the United States, Europe and beyond.

So far so good. However, ZippSlip wanted to accelerate their expansion. Enter Studio Stanley who, together with Sales Director Mike Green and Helen Moore CMO, created a refreshed website that enabled the company to expand at a greater pace.

“Mark was brilliant in helping us visualise our rather complex message and came up with a website which was much more successful than its predecessor. Great job!”
Helen Moore, CMO, ZippSlip
