Today Pinpoint is proudly celebrating 18 years of trading! Pinpoint is a grown up! This doesn’t mean we have it all sussed and sorted, but I am very proud of this milestone and will be raising a glass for sure to celebrate.
Here are lessons learned over all of this time:
1. Mindset and actual progress - Running a business is a rollercoaster
2. Network - build a network of colleagues, experts and supporters
3. Money - cashflow is key!
4. Save - save regularly for tax. Helps you pay bills and keep cashflow healthy
5. Resilience - the economy, clients and the business will throw all sorts of curve balls at you
6. Agenda - try not to get sucked into everyone else’s agenda. Stick to your agenda when you can
7. Help - it’s ok to ask for help and bring in help
8. Just because you can, doesn’t mean you should
9. Open mind - switch up what isn’t working whether that’s your marketing or market
10. Niche - makes marketing, lead gen and sales so much easier
11. Sell! Even when bus with delivery, keep selling and building that pipeline
12. Balance - in busy tomes, balance delivery and sales
13. Look after yourself - you can’t pour from an empty cup and running a business can be draining
14. Have a strategy, know where you are going and set some goals
15. Plan, plan and plan some more. And pivot from the plan if you need to
16. Patience - nurturing leads or seeing results doesn’t happen overnight. But it will
17. Burnout - be careful of falling foul to this! Look after your mind, your numbers and your body
18. Celebrate the big and the little wins. Review and praise and celebrate regularly. Very motivating
