Don't know what to say or write for an introduction post or reel? Here's some tips and ideas:

- keep it short, you don't have to go into song and dance detailing every last thing. You can elaborate in future content.

- show you're human by adding a bit of personal information, obviously not your stats ☺️ but tell others of a hobby, your favourite biscuit or a special skill you have that's unusual.

- say who you help and be specific. A photographer isn't just a photographer they're an equestrian events photographer. What's your specialism?

- explain how you help your client. What struggle of theirs do you solve? I help technologically challenged small business owners get a grip on social media 👍🏽

Even though you're desperate to tell people all about your great business they don't have the time to listen to a work of art so grab them.

Think of it like this; if you had 30 seconds to stand on a stage and tell a crowd who you are, what you could do for them and how, what would you say?

Today is Emotional Health Awareness day 😀😞😶😏😟😣

Emotions are a big thing and impact us all in different ways. They are our body's way of giving us information so don't dismiss them out of hand. But there's no right or wrong way to deal with them. Sit for a time and take notice of how they make you feel.

Being in business, however big or small it may be, takes a lot of effort so if you start feeling something take time to listen. Seek help if you find it difficult to navigate, support is SO important.

Have a great day all and remember, take a breath and look around you if things are making you feel bad.

If it's good enough for the Princess of Wales it's good enough for your business 💃🏽

Repurposing.

There's nothing wrong with reusing content for your social media profiles. Just make sure it's the right content.

Content that you can reuse is known as "evergreen", like the trees 🌲

So what content is good to reuse?

Posts such as ones where you introduce yourself to your followers. Every now and again when you have an increase in followers you can reintroduce yourself. This engages with your new followers so they get to know you and you also remind long term ones who you are 😎

You can also reuse content showing your products, these are best if you can do a reel showing how you make them. Or if you provide a service you can have a reel describing how your service can help.

Those are just a couple of ideas 💡

Like the Princess though don't over use this option 👍🏽 Time the use and tweak parts of it to keep it fresh 💃🏽

It's great to share knowledge with clients and see it giving them more confidence or enabling them to feel able to move their business forward.

A meeting has helped my client this morning by showing them ways in which they can use Facebook and the Facebook Business Suite to make posting easier. We also discussed how a shift in their content to a more personal and informative style would give them greater connection with their followers.

Social media is such a massive platform sometimes it just needs a little support to navigate it more productively.

Potentially an unpopular opinion but here goes -

Do you use the @ everyone (followers) function on Facebook? It seems a great little tool doesn't it? Who wouldn't want to be able to connect with all their followers in one hit? Yeah of course you do, it's a time saver and guarantees you get in their feed, right?

WRONG.

The @ everyone could potentially be turning your followers away, especially if you are using it on a regular basis. It's like you're spamming followers using it.

Look at it like this, you crave connection and suffer from FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out) and your notifications go 'ping' letting you know someone is contacting you. You excitedly open your app to find its a notification saying 'X mentioned you and other followers in a comment.' and when you click on it there's nothing of interest to you. If this happens daily or worse still multiple times a day how would you feel? You'd soon get cheesed off wouldn't you? Then what do you do, turn off notifications or worse, unfollow!?

That is ultimately what's happening if you use this function too often on your posts.

It doesn't mean that you shouldn't use it BUT be careful and apply it economically with these points in mind -

Limit use to just once a month or better still, use it only when you have something special to share with your followers, e.g. an offer, a business update.

When you do use it try to ensure that the content you're sharing is relevant to ALL your followers. Your followers don't all follow you for the same reasons.
