It’s time for another Style Spotter!

Last week I spotted two fabulous ladies from - a gorgeous independent shop in Horsham town centre. I love seeing people who wear what makes them feel good and bring their own personality to their outfits, and these two definitely do just that.

Have a flick through to find out more about their style, favourite pieces, and what fashion means to them. Style is so personal, I just love hearing about someone's influences and tastes.

Thank you so much to Hannah and Louisa both for being such great sports and sharing your style with us!

Let’s please give them some love in the comments and remember, kind comments only please. My Style Spotter feature is here to celebrate confidence, individuality, and great style in our community. 🧡

Do you struggle to know what to wear when the weather suddenly becomes boiling outside? In the absence of a nice pool to have a dip in, the reality of trying to stay cool whilst having to dress for your every day, can be a challenge!

My biggest tips? Focus on fabrics and fit before anything else. Think:

- Natural fabrics like linen and cotton which are breathable. Avoid wearing polyester or nylon which will make you very hot and sticky!

- Opt for more relaxed and loose fits. These don’t need to be oversized, you can still create shape by adding a loose tuck or a rolled sleeve on a shirt. A dress with some shape on places rather than loose all over.

- Try easy and effortless co-ords which can be worn separately too.

I hope this is useful! Let me know what else you’d like style tips on below…

Have a good week, enjoy the sunshine and stay cool! Lx

Recently I asked on my stories, what you would like to see styled up and ‘Every day looks’ got the most votes, so here we go...

When I talk about “every day looks”, I mean outfits that work for real life.

Pieces that are:
• comfortable enough to actually wear all day
• versatile enough to mix and match
• effortless, but still make you feel put together

These are the kinds of outfits you can mix and match and elevate through different accessories and a pop of colour. You could also dress them up just by adding a different shoe, more jewellery or switching the layer for a blazer.

I hope this gives you some easy, wearable inspo. For the links, head to the Shop My link in my bio. I will also share to my stories.

Do let me know which look is your favourite?… 1, 2, 3 or 4?

Outdated styling rules I happily ignore as a personal stylist -

1. ‘Blue and green should never be seen (unless there’s a colour inbetween)’
This one you may have heard from your Granny! There are several old colour rules but I always think it’s a shame if women have always avoided this lovely colour combination. Blue and green are in fact very complimentary colours in colour analysis!

2. ‘You shouldn’t mix gold and silver jewellery’
Knowing what colour metals to wear near your face can make a difference but if you like both then mixing metals is an option! My watch is gold and silver, as are my rings and I like to layer some silver in with my gold, so I ignore this old school rule.

3. ‘Dress for your age’
This one makes my eyes roll. Have you ever heard that you can’t wear a skirt above your knees over 40? Someone said this to me once! Well, style has no age limit. Wear what makes you feel confident and feels most like yourself.

This is exactly why I don’t believe in strict styling rules as most of them were created years ago and don’t reflect how women actually want to dress, live or feel now.

I prefer styling TOOLS over RULES! Tools can help us whereas rules just restrict us.
What styling rules have you heard or choose to ignore? Let me know below…

Sometimes it’s not just a case that you’ve ‘lost your style’, it’s more that life has changed and your wardrobe hasn’t caught up yet!

Your body might feel different whilst your lifestyle looks completely different. Even your priorities may have changed.

This all then has a knock on effect on you and your confidence which can mean getting dressed suddenly feels much harder.

This is where a few small changes in mindset can make a big difference
- Giving yourself a bit more kindness
- Letting go of old expectations
- Choosing clothes that actually reflect you and how you want to feel now

So, if you’ve been standing in front of your wardrobe wondering why it all doesn’t feel right anymore, you don’t have to figure this all out on your own, I can help.

As we move through Spring and the weather starts to warm up, we can finally lose the heavy layers, which means we can switch things up a bit.

This is the time of year where woven tops come into their own! Think cottons, linens, soft blouses, denim and relaxed shirts.

From detailed blouses with ties, broderie, frills, embroidery and statement collars to simple boxy denim style and oversized cotton shirts.

Stripes being a big one this year. They’re that perfect in-between piece. Light enough for warmer days, but something a bit different than a basic tee.

In this edit, I’ve pulled together some beautiful spring tops that will effortlessly update your jeans and trousers.

Head over to my Shop My collection via the link in my bio to explore the full edit I’ve carefully curated for you.

4. Yummy food and fancy cocktails
5. Delicious fish tacos by the sea
6. Taking in the fabulous
7. Civilised pre-drinks with the girls
8. What does a woman in her mid 40’s wear to have fancy pre-drinks and then dance to the Prodigy?!
9. Dancing like I’m 25 again
