That might be speed, control, visibility, consistency, conversion or reduced operational effort. The point is not simply that the technology exists or has been delivered. The real question is whether it has improved a result the business can recognise and value.

ROI depends on more than spend and delivery. It depends on understanding what the investment was meant to improve, why that matters and how progress should be judged. If that foundation is vague, the value story usually will be too.
