Ever wondered whose idea it was to hold a wedding fayre? đź’Ť

There’s no single confirmed inventor, but one chapter of the story has a surprising connection… radio! 📻

In the mid-1960s, American radio businessman Don Burden and advertising expert Kevin Sweeney developed the Bridal Fair® concept to help generate advertising sales for radio stations. Their format reached Vancouver, Canada, in 1969.

They can’t definitively be credited with inventing every wedding fayre, but their story is a fascinating part of its history.

Fast forward to today, and meeting people face to face is still a lovely part of planning a wedding. You can see the details up close, ask questions and get a feel for the people who could help bring your day together.
