It's only thanks to the understanding of my family and customers that I can just drop everything and rush out the door to help others in need.
Today was a particularly busy one with 3 back to back callouts, all at Glentress.
I wish the casualties a speedy recovery and I'll be in the office all day tomorrow! Promise.
❌❌ Callouts 41, 42 and 43 of 2021 (All today)❌❌
Today saw a hat-trick of callouts in a rare super busy day for our volunteer responders.
Incident 41 kicked off at 11:50 with reports of a young lad with a leg injury in the Spooky Wood area of Glentress following a fall from a mountain bike. Our Cas was evacuated to a waiting ambulance and handed over to the Scottish Ambulance Service.
Just after the handover, our team members were approached by a member of the public who appeared to have been suffering a broken collar bone following a mountain bike fall. This became incident 42 of the year and we administered first aid and pain relief until the ambulance arrived.
Incident 43 came through from Police Scotland at 15:10 stating another mountain biker had taken a fall and suffered a serious ankle injury (again at Glentress). Team members located the casualty and, following a short stretcher carry, evacuated her to our Land Rover for onward transfer to a Scottish Ambulance Service vehicle. Incident concluded just after 17:00
Our best wishes go to all of todays casualties and hope you're back on your bikes soon!
All our team members are volunteers who operate at a professional level to assist the statutory emergency services. Only through the understanding of our family, friends and work colleagues (who are left to fill the gaps when we suddenly mobilise to an incident) are we able to continue to do what we do.
