Seals have highly sensitive whiskers that enable them to hunt effectively even in poor visual conditions.

Their specially shaped whiskers can detect the disturbances left by other creatures moving through the water, even while they are moving themselves - including boats! The seals were very inquisitive about the various boats moving through the waters, and this one certainly had it's eye on me...

For those of you who are new, I’m Deb, also known as “DB” within my photography circle, a 29-year-old photographer who enjoys most things photography.

While my heart has always been with wildlife and pet photography, I ventured into the exciting world of equine photography last year. There’s something truly exhilarating about capturing the elegance and power of a horse in mid-jump during a show.

On top of that, I’ve begun to explore the idea of wedding photography, a whole new realm of creativity and storytelling - being due to photograph my own brother's wedding in early 2025.

With each click, I’m always learning and evolving, pushing myself to improve not just my photography but also my ability to share it with the world.

I'll forever be excited to see where this journey takes me. x

With sandy beaches backed by dunes, no natural predators and very little disturbance, Blakeney Point in Norfolk is the perfect place for grey seals to live and give birth to around 4,000 pups each year.

They can be seen here all year round, but between late October and mid-January, large numbers congregate to give birth and breed.

The markings on a red panda's face help them survive.

The reddish 'tear tracks' extending from their eyes to the corner of their mouth may help keep the sun out of their eyes. The white on their face is "almost luminescent" and can guide a mother's lost cubs in the darkness.

Cheetahs' spots cover nearly all of their bodies and are thought to reinforce camouflage by providing contrast to gray-hued grasses.

Each cheetah actually has their own unique spots and ring pattern around their tails, much like a human fingerprint.

The slow reproductive rate of spider monkeys is a challenge to the conservation efforts for the species. After a gestation period of around seven months, female spider monkeys generally give birth to one offspring every two to four years.

The baby receives a high level of parental care from the mother, who also teaches her young social behaviors and how to forage.

Females keep their young offspring with them, even when traveling to other groups. Baby spider monkeys are weaned at between 12 and 20 months of age

Snow leopards have evolved to live in some of the harshest conditions on Earth.

Their thick white-gray coat spotted with large black rosettes blends in perfectly with Asia’s steep and rocky, high mountains.

Because of their incredible natural camouflage, rendering them almost invisible in their surroundings, snow leopards are often referred to as the “ghost of the mountains.”
