📢 Pixelated mess or crisp perfection? Let’s talk image types! 🎨

Not all images are created equal. Ever zoomed in on a logo only to find it’s turned into a blurry disaster? Or tried resizing an image and lost all the detail? That’s because raster and vector images work very differently!

🔹 Raster images = Made of pixels. Great for photos but lose quality when scaled.

🔹 Vector images = Made of paths. Perfect for logos & graphics that need to stay sharp at any size.

Swipe through to learn the key differences and when to use each one! 👉

Want to make sure your branding and visuals are crisp & professional? Drop me a message or visit www.thecreativeguy.co.uk – let’s make your designs unforgettable! 🚀

✨ Thrilled to partner with Colchester & Ipswich Hospitals Charity for their Butterfly Appeal ✨

I feel incredibly fortunate to have partnered with the fantastic team at Colchester & Ipswich Hospitals Charity for nearly a decade. Recently, I was honoured to be asked to design the branding and marketing materials for their latest fundraising initiative – The Butterfly Appeal.

🌸 What is the Butterfly Appeal?
This appeal raises funds to support the vital work of the Butterfly Volunteers, who provide comfort and care to patients and their families during the end-of-life stage.

Having previously collaborated with the charity on branding projects like the Children’s Appeal and the Blossom Appeal, I was excited to take on this new challenge. My brief was clear: create a campaign that harmonizes with the charity’s overall brand while giving the Butterfly Appeal its unique identity.

🦋 Design Process & Concept
The core elements of the design stemmed from the existing branding, which included a signature heart emblem. The butterfly graphic used by the Butterfly Volunteers also had to be incorporated for familiarity. I developed three initial concepts, crafting mockups for posters, banners, leaflets, and social media content. After fine-tuning the chosen design, we crafted a cohesive visual identity across all campaign materials.

The final design elegantly merged two hearts from the main charity logo to form a butterfly, symbolising love and transformation. We chose a soft palette of purples and pinks, evoking kindness, compassion, dignity and calm—qualities central to the appeal’s mission.

🎨 Final Touches
From start to finish, working with Nichola Whymark, Nicole Mann and Lotte d’Hane was an absolute pleasure. Their clear communication and creative input were invaluable, making this a wonderful collaboration. Together, we've built a campaign that we’re all incredibly proud of.

👉 Buy a butterfly
As part of this campaign, the charity commissioned 1,000 stunning metal butterflies, crafted locally by Darren Fletcher at Suffolk Ironworks. These will be showcased across hospital sites from September 6th to October 18th, and supporters can purchase their own butterflies to plant in their gardens afterward.

The charity is a registered charity. No. 1048827

For the last four years I have been fortunate to have been contracted to support the World Health Organization with on-going hashtag resources for the vitally important Eye Strategy (Eliminate Yellow Fever Epidemics (EYE) Strategy)

Providing creative support for this great initiative has been one of my career highlights. Sadly this contract has now come to its natural conclusion and so I am now hashtag . I will greatly miss working with my colleagues and would like to express my thanks to the team for the experience!

💉About the EYE Strategy
The Eliminate Yellow fever Epidemics (EYE) Strategy is a global initiative led by the World Health Organization (WHO), UNICEF, and Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, aimed at preventing yellow fever outbreaks by 2026. It focuses on mass vaccination campaigns, improved disease surveillance, and strengthening health systems in high-risk regions, particularly in Africa and South America.

🎨 My work on the EYE strategy
As a hashtag for the EYE Strategy, Together with Rakhee Verma, their communications specialist, I delivered creative support for high-impact reports, newsletters, social media graphics, their social media toolkit, communications strategy and presentations. Because obtaining imagery out 'in the field' was not possible I developed a set of cohesive graphics to represent the people of the EYE strategy. My designs ensured clear, compelling visuals that helped communicate the mission effectively across platforms.

👋 Open to work
Due to the natural conclusion of my work on this project I am hashtag on hashtag or hashtag (Retained) contracts within any organisation and of course within other departments of the World Health Organization (WHO), UNICEF, Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance or United Nations as well.

🗓️ About my experience
I’ve got 25 years experience in graphic design and marketing, working with some of the nations biggest brands such as Virgin Limited Edition, B͏&͏Q͏ ͏U͏n͏i͏t͏e͏d͏ ͏K͏i͏n͏g͏d͏o͏m͏ La Manga Club , Fluid Systems, Colchester & Ipswich Hospitals Charity, Mitra Innovation, Suffolk County Council and Stowmarket Town Council.
