https://lindamcclure.co I'm Linda McClure,

and my work is for the multi-passionate and un-niche-able business owners out there. I work mainly with Coaches, Nutritional Therapists, Holistic Practitioners, and Creatives. The beauty of this is that I understand your world because it is mine too. I have over 20 years of experience in these fields. I am a Bespoke Branding & Creative Web Designer and a Low Carb Nutrition Expert. For years, I tried to keep these worlds separate. It turns out, the magic is in the overlap. For Your Business:
I build digital homes for business owners who refuse to be ordinary. My process is part strategy, part design, part tech, and part storytelling. I don't just build websites; I find the story in your business and translate it into a brand that's undeniably you. Your story is as important as your qualifications. "Your Whole Life Is a Qualification"! For Your Body:
You can't build a business from a broken body. I help my clients get their health and energy back using Therapeutic Carbohydrate Restriction (TCR), Keto, and Carnivore protocols. I offer coaching packages for Business Owners and Professionals who feel like they have lost their way in health. Your body and brain need to be at full power for you to run your business. We can work on your health and your business together, or if you need help just with health, that is fine too. My entire philosophy is about cutting through the bullsh*t - In Health – In Business – In Life.

Do you ever hit 2 AM and go "ping" wide awake, mind racing, completely wired?

You probably blame it on stress, getting older, or just menopause.

It usually isn't. It is your blood sugar and your liver.

Between 1 AM and 3 AM is the exact time your liver is supposed to be doing its heavy lifting. It should be quietly doing its detox jobs and drip-feeding a steady supply of energy into your blood while you sleep.

But if you are insulin resistant and your metabolism is out of sync, your liver is likely already bogged down. It struggles to keep things stable, and your blood sugar drops.

Your brain senses that drop, panics, and thinks you are running out of fuel.
To save you, it shoots out a sharp spike of cortisol and adrenaline (your stress hormones) to kick the liver into gear and force it to dump emergency sugar into your blood.

That adrenaline spike is exactly what jolts you awake. It is a literal fight-or-flight response happening in the middle of the night.
(For some people, like me, that stress dump also triggers a histamine release that makes your skin insanely itchy. But for most, it is just that frustrating, wired, staring-at-the-ceiling feeling).

You can try all the sleeping pills or HRT you want, but until you fix the metabolic foundation, that 2 AM alarm clock will keep going off.

When you use Therapeutic Keto, you adapt your body to comfortably burn its own stored fat for fuel.
Your blood sugar stays completely flat and stable overnight.
Your brain doesn't panic.
There is no cortisol spike, and your liver gets to do its job properly.

Just proper, uninterrupted sleep.

It is time to call BS on the quick fixes.

The wellness industry is making an absolute fortune keeping people stuck in a miserable, expensive loop.

One of my friends posted something in the last few days calling out "Menopause Shower Gel" with an "amino acid complex" printed on the front.

It is such fecking bu****it!

They know women are exhausted, struggling with hormones, and looking for answers, so they slap a buzzword on a bottle of soap and charge a premium for it.

And it is not just shower gel. It is the expensive "detox" powders, the magic fat-burner pills, and the £50 supplements that promise to fix your energy and clear your brain fog.

AGAIN it is complete and utter BS.

I know, because for years, I bought into all that crap. I was desperate for a fix. I spent a fortune on supplements hoping one of them would be the magic bullet for my skin, my weight, and my exhaustion.

The fecking hard truth is that the wellness industry doesn't want you to know: you cannot supplement your way out of a broken metabolic foundation.

You can buy all the expensive powders in the world, but if you are still eating the exact foods that keep your insulin high, your gut leaky, and your body inflamed, nothing will change.
And that goes for lots of other stuff too.

Real healing doesn't come in a fancy bottle. It comes from the end of your fork.

Lower the carbs. Give your body the proper, bioavailable protein it needs to rebuild tissue and balance your hormones. Eat proper FOOD!

Save your money on the marketing hype, and just eat proper human food.

I did carnivore this time last year to heal my gut, and hopefully clear up the candida that had plagued me for a number of years.

I was also so excited, thinking it would be the breakthrough after years of weight-loss stalling.

It was so bloody hard. I felt stripped bare, and there were moments in the first 6 weeks I honestly did not think I could do it.

I had expected my skin to just clear up. It didn't. I actually ended up feeling pretty ill by the end up, and it took me a while to figure out why. AND it wasn’t because Carnivore didn’t help me, it DID.

But what I realised was, you can't just slap a band-aid on a leaky gut or a candida overgrowth if you are severely insulin resistant and your liver is struggling. The liver deals with clearing things out.
When you have years of metabolic damage and your liver is bogged down, your body panics and pushes that toxic load out through your skin.

During the almost 4 months of strict Carnivore I had also done a 5 day fast.

All of it helped, but by end of December my body was struggling.

I had cleared the plaque psoriasis years before, but the inverse psoriasis didn't heal last year because I was trying to fix the roof while the foundations were still totally scuppered.

I was really fed up in the end up, my kidneys were struggling, my liver was in toxin overload and I was knackered.

This summer I took a completely different approach.

Looking back, the candida overgrowth last year was so severe that the die-off just completely overwhelmed my system. But that brutal 4 months of carnivore did a job. It broke the back of the candida so I didn't have to face that same wall this year.
But the real difference this time? I am therapeutically using food. I lowered the dietary fat and massively upped my protein.

Protein is packed with the exact amino acids your body needs to heal tissue. I wasn't just burning fat; I was giving my body the literal building blocks it needed to repair my gut lining and heal my skin from the inside out.

When people do not believe you can heal with food and time and a whole lot of determination, I call BU****IT!

Insulin resistance is one of the main reasons weight loss can feel so fricking hard.

You’ve cut out the biscuits, you’ve stopped putting sugar in your tea, and you’re eating massive bowls of fruit and veg because you’ve been told for years that this is what "healthy" looks like.

But the scale is completely stuck. The food noise in your head is deafening. You are constantly hungry, exhausted, and fighting your own appetite every single day.

Here is the thing most people don't realise: your body doesn't care if a carbohydrate comes from a slice of bread, a bowl of porridge, or a carrot or a banana.

Once you eat it, it all breaks down into the exact same thing: glucose.

When you eat glucose, your pancreas pumps out insulin to deal with it. If you are constantly grazing on carbs, even the "healthy" ones, your insulin stays high all day.

When your insulin is high, your body physically cannot access your stored body fat. The doors are locked.

This is exactly why weight loss feels so bloody hard.
It’s why you might be creeping towards pre-diabetes or Type 2, and it’s why the cravings are so loud you could scream.

Your body is desperate for energy, but because insulin is high, it can't tap into the fuel you already have stored on your hips or stomach.

Does this mean you have to give up all fruit and veg forever? No.

But it does mean that eating copious amounts of them while you are weight-loss resistant might actually be the very thing keeping you stuck.

If your weight isn't moving, if you are fighting food cravings all day, and if you are exhausted trying to force a system that clearly isn't working for your body, then changing the approach is exactly where you need to start.

Lower the carbs, lower the insulin, and let your body finally access its own fuel.

One of the things I missed when I was away on our holidays lately, was hearing my daughter playing her guitar and singing at night.

Sitting here after not long finishing teaching my class tonight and it just fills my heart with joy to hear her playing and singing her wee heart out. Also playing one of my favs, The Cranberries 🥰🥰

Being in ketosis does not automatically mean you are burning your own body fat.

I know, because I spent years doing exactly that.
I was burning fat all right.
Just not off my butt, tummy or anywhere else!

Keto tells us that the body is using fat for fuel and producing ketones.
What it does not tell us is where that fat is coming from.

Some of it can come from the food you have just eaten. Some can come from the fat stored on your body. Usually, it will be a mixture of both.

And this is where people get confused, because dietary fat is not just there to make food taste good.

Fat has important work to do.
It helps us absorb vitamins A, D, E and K.
It forms part of every cell membrane in the body.

Essential fatty acids matter for the brain, nervous system and immune function. Cholesterol is also the starting material for steroid hormones such as oestrogen, progesterone, testosterone and cortisol.

So no, I am not here to blame butter for what the bread did.

When someone is reducing carbohydrate, especially in the beginning, dietary fat can help provide energy, reduce hunger and make the move away from constant glucose and insulin spikes more manageable.

There are times when the body needs more energy from fat while it is repairing, settling and adapting.

But healing, maintaining health and deliberately losing stored body fat are not always the same job.

If somebody is weight-loss resistant, already well adapted to keto or carnivore, and continually adding lots of dietary fat, there may be very little reason for the body to go looking for the energy it already has stored.

That does not mean fat is bad. It means we need to understand what job we are asking food to do.

Are we trying to support healing?

Are we trying to get hunger under control?

Are we trying to build or protect muscle?

Are we trying to lose stored body fat?

Or are we trying to do several of those things at once?

The answer changes how I use keto.

This is why I do not hand people a set of macros and tell them to crack on.
Food, symptoms, hunger, health history, medication, sleep, stress, movement and goals all matter.

The person in front of me tells me where we start.

I nearly gave this all up. But instead, I went back to my own health. I learned some really important info and also experienced some amazing results, which I am ready to bring into my work.

I took the summer to concentrate on me for a wee change and to reflect on what I want in life and work.

I always believe things happen in life to give us the messages we are meant to pay attention to.

I had a bit of a rough start to the summer back in June. So I took some time out and since then I have just been working on my own health again.

As many people know I had tried pretty much everything including Strict Carnivore to heal candida overgrowth in my gut and also to try and fix my own metabolic health.

It worked for a lot, but I still hit the same weight loss resistance like I have done for the last 6 years.

So this summer I tried some new ways. Firstly I ate s**t for a month to give me a true baseline. My thoughts were that if I was going to help others in this way I had to get back to understanding true food cravings and food noise again.

Anyhoo, I tried my normal standard Keto again and I lost a lb here and there, but then I would put a lb back on and on that went for about 8 weeks ish.

Then in the first week of August I made a decision after a s**t ton of research and going back over some of my Ketogenic Science course work, to use Keto differently. To manipulate my fat and protein intake and lower total carbs (my veggies basically) to under 8g total per day.

I began weighing and tracking absolutely everything that went into my mouth. Because what I had realised was that, I was burning fat and I was fat adapted. But the problem was, I was only burning the fat that was going in my mouth.

I made massive changes in it all and I had exactly 3 and hlf weeks between starting and going to Spain on September 5th.

I had no idea at the time it would work, but holy fecking s**t it did. It was like nothing I have ever experienced in anything I have done before.

I dropped 22lbs in that really short amount of time. AND I have finally completely cleared my skin for the first time in around 14 years. I was and am still ecstatic.

I went on holiday not only feeling good about how I looked, but I was not embarrassed to have my skin seen in public. Because in the areas that had been affected by a mixture of Candida and inverse psoriasis it was really bad and ugly to look at. Plus it was so painful and itchy.

Everything I have done for myself in the last few months has given me the confidence to now bring that into my work as a Nutritional Therapist and Therapeutic Keto Practitioner. Because I almost gave it all up. I just didn't feel good enough to help others when I was still struggling so much.

I kept thinking, who will even listen to me when I cannot seem to get past this huge weight loss resistance and clear the last bits of my own skin.

Well I am back in the game and for the first time I feel so worthy of it. Sometimes we just need to put our own oxygen mask on before we can help others.

I work with people who know something is not right, but have been given a different explanation for every bit of it.

Weight that will not shift. Hunger. Food noise. Brain fog. Gut trouble. Skin flares. Pain. Blood sugar. Hormones. No energy. Keto or carnivore that has stopped working, if you have tried this before.

Your body is not a collection of separate problems.
And I do not look at it that way.

I look at the whole story: your food, your symptoms, your history, medication, sleep, stress, movement and what is actually happening in your life.

I believe food matters more than anything else. Proper human food matters. I believe the low-fat, high-carb, ultra-processed mess we have been sold has done a lot of people no favours at all.

I am not here to tell you to eat less, move more, or buy a cupboard full of supplements.

I am here for people willing to question the advice that has not worked for them and look at things differently.

That does not mean you need to have all the answers. You do not need to be perfect. You do need to be open to making real changes.

So, welcome to the new page updates and I will be here a lot going fwd, because I am so ready for this. I know I can't keep this to myself for the fear of social media. I have hidden away for long enough.

I have spent the whole weekend, since I arrived back from Spain on Thurs afternoon (morning, noon and night 🤣🤣), updating my website to suit all of what I am now offering.

Have a look around. Read my story. Read about how I work. And if you think I might be your kind of person, send me an enquiry.

For decades, people have been told to fear salt.

Don’t add it to food. Choose the low-salt option. Too much salt is dangerous.

Yet sugar is everywhere.

It’s in breakfast cereals, yoghurts, sauces, drinks, snack bars and foods marketed specifically to children. It is also hidden behind words such as “natural,” “wholegrain,” “low fat” and “one of your five a day.”

Somehow, sprinkling good-quality sea salt on an egg became something to worry about, while eating a bowl of cereal that rapidly breaks down into glucose was considered a healthy breakfast.

Then, to make matters worse, people pour sweetened “nut milk”, or nut juice as I prefer to call it, over that cereal because they have been told it is a healthier choice.

Salt supplies sodium and chloride, which are essential minerals the body needs. Sodium plays a vital role in fluid balance, nerve signalling, muscle function and maintaining blood volume. The body cannot function without it.

That does not mean everyone needs unlimited amounts of salt. Individual health, kidney function, blood pressure, medication, activity levels and the rest of the diet still matter. But reducing it to “salt is bad” is bloody useless.

That is the problem with so much nutrition advice. We get slogans instead of explanations.

“Salt is bad.”

“Fruit sugar doesn’t count.”

“Wholegrains are healthy.”

“Everything in moderation.”

These statements are easy to repeat, but they do not help anyone understand what is actually happening inside their own body.

We have spent decades counting grains of salt while pouring sugar into almost every part of the modern diet.

Perhaps we’ve been watching the wrong white stuff.
