Building a website without careful consideration of SEO is like setting off on a road to nowhere. We meet so many clients who have been tempted by the reduced cost of a hastily designed and developed website, but 6 months down the line, the website has still not begun to rank.

John and Tim recently took part in 'Race to the Stones', a gruelling 100km ultramarathon along the UK's oldest footpath. 👏🚶‍♂️🚶‍♂️

Spreading the challenge over two days with an overnight camping stay in the middle, they successfully finished the walk despite the intense heat and an impressive array of blisters.

Today marks the start of Wimbledon 2022!

Here are some interesting commonalities between SEO and tennis we discovered:

🎾 Rankings - just like SEO enthusiasts, there is not a day that goes by that a player isn't aware of their ranking.

🎾 Statistics - first serve %, break points converted and unforced errors are as important to them as conversion rates, bounce rates and time on site are to us nerds!

🎾 All round approach - the more of an all-rounder you are in tennis, the more difficult you are to beat; this holds true for a website which covers all SEO bases.

🎾 Practice - tennis players spend hours practising the tiniest elements of their game, SEO needs just as much investment and we try to leave no stone unturned.

🎾 The long game - no one wins at tennis by serving a series of aces, just like SEO, long and steady wins the game.

🎾 Nutrition - professional tennis stars have to think very carefully about what they eat, we too spend much time debating which biscuits to crack open with our afternoon tea.
