One of Googles most common recommendations says “go broad” - but for most businesses, it’s not that simple.

We hear it a lot. Switch everything over, let automation do the work, and you’ll capture more opportunities. It sounds appealing, especially if you’re short on time.

But in practice, it often creates more problems than it solves.

For many of the businesses we work with at Net Vis - local services, specialist providers, companies with tight budgets - this approach can quickly lead to wasted spend. Ads start appearing in places they shouldn’t, attracting the wrong enquiries, and before long, budget disappears without meaningful results.

There are cases where a broader approach works. High-volume accounts with strong, consistent data can see benefits. But that’s not the reality for most SMEs trying to generate quality leads and steady growth.

Our approach is simple. We stay in control, test carefully, and refine based on real results. That means focusing on the right audience, cutting out what doesn’t work, and making sure every pound is working towards enquiries and sales.

As a Google Partner, we’re trusted to manage campaigns with clarity and care. No jargon, no guesswork - just total visibility and a focus on what actually drives results.

Because trusting the system is fine. Handing it your entire budget without question is something else entirely.

A quick example of how better targeting changed everything for one of our clients.

Pura Vida Tacos had strong demand, but too many enquiries weren’t right for the business. Weekends were full, while midweek sat quiet.

We worked with them to refocus their advertising. No jargon—just clearer messaging, better targeting, and a structure built to attract the right type of bookings.

The aim was simple: bring in more corporate events, weddings, and larger parties, while filtering out low-value enquiries early.

Within 10 days of relaunching the campaigns, the impact was clear. Seven strong leads came through, with a more consistent flow of the right opportunities building behind it.

Less wasted spend. Better conversations. Campaigns that actually support growth.

If your ads are generating noise but not results, it might be time to rethink the approach.

Meta’s new feature could change how you prioritise your ads - if you use it wisely.

They’ve introduced “Push delivery to this ad”, allowing you to reserve part of your budget for a specific ad. On the surface, it sounds like a simple win - put more spend behind what you think will perform best.

But here’s the reality. You only know what works best by testing.

At Net Vis, this isn’t new thinking for us. We’ve been testing and refining ad campaigns for years across Meta. For every client, we run a mix of formats - single images, carousels, video - and vary the messaging, from short and punchy to more detailed copy.

Why? Because every audience responds differently.

Once we have clear data, we cut back the underperforming ads and prioritise the ones that genuinely drive leads and sales. It’s how we remove wasted spend and keep campaigns focused on results.

This new Meta feature can support that process - but it doesn’t replace it.

If anything, it reinforces a simple truth: informed decisions beat assumptions every time. And with the right testing and visibility, your ad spend works a lot harder.

Looking for a quick win in your Google Ads account?

You’ve probably noticed the recommendations tab - suggesting things like expanding your reach or tweaking how your ads show. While some of these can be useful, they’re not always the right move for every business.

Simply reviewing and clearing out recommendations can boost your optimisation score Ideally, you want to be as close to 100% as possible - it’s often one of the first things Google support recommends when troubleshooting issues, so staying on top of it and reviewing regularly helps keep you ahead of the game.

If you’re stuck staring at them not knowing what to do, give us a call and we’ll help you figure it out.
Keep an eye on our page too - we’ll be breaking down different Google Ads recommendations and explaining when you should (and shouldn’t) apply them.

Got a Google Analytics email landing in your inbox? Don’t panic.

It’s a routine update from Google about how user permissions are applied across Google Analytics and Google Ads so both tools stay aligned. No sudden switch, no hidden change to your account.

For most businesses, nothing needs doing. The main message is simple: control remains with you and your customers, not Google.

In short – don’t mess about with what you have, but if it’s on your mind, contact the team at Net Vis on 01926 958400

Bad news for users, excellent news for advertisers.

From today, every time someone Googles a question, they’ll be charged a small fee. Searching for “best local plumber”? That’ll cost a little extra. “Quick recipe ideas”? Premium feature. And the best part for advertisers - you get half that money straight into your campaign budget.

It’s the perfect system. Users pay, advertisers earn, everyone wins… right?

They were this close to buying… here’s how to bring them back.

If you run an online shop, you’ll know the frustration: someone browses your site, adds something to their basket, maybe even gets to the checkout… and then leaves without buying. In fact, over 70% of online shopping carts are abandoned. But that doesn’t mean the sale is lost.

With the right ad strategy, you can bring those potential customers back - right at the moment they’re still thinking about that purchase. Using tools like the Meta Pixel (for Facebook and Instagram) or Google remarketing audiences, the Net Vis team regularly show tailored ads to people who’ve already visited your website and shown interest.

These aren’t cold audiences. They’re people who just need a little nudge. The ads they see can remind them of the exact product they looked at, build trust with your brand, or highlight key benefits that could help them finally take the plunge. Sometimes it’s about reassurance. Sometimes it’s about timing. Either way, it works.

At Net Vis, we help ecommerce businesses get this right. We set up the tracking properly, build campaigns that speak to your customers at just the right moment, and constantly refine performance to make sure you’re not wasting budget on clicks that go nowhere.

And, as always, you’ll know exactly what we’re doing and why. No jargon. No guesswork. Just smart strategy, full visibility, and results you can actually see.

From 1 July 2026, advertising costs are going up - are you prepared?

Meta has announced new “location fees” on ads within the UK. According to Meta “Average price per add” has risen 20% over the last 2 years. Location fees are yet another increase. Have your budgets increased? Unlikely.

A campaign targeting the UK will now carry an additional 2% charge on top of your usual spend. It might sound small, but over time it adds up and can quietly eat into your results if left unchecked.

This is where clarity matters. At Net Vis, we understand it’s almost impossible to increase budgets at this rate – we will make sure you understand exactly where your budget is going and what it’s delivering. Just clear reporting, smart targeting, and ongoing optimisation to keep your campaigns working hard.
The landscape is always shifting. New fees, new rules, new challenges.

Our job is to stay ahead of it - so your ads continue to generate leads, not just costs.
