Apparently I need to be a professional chef before I’m allowed to review food… 😂

Just to clear something up…

I’ve never claimed to be a professional food critic. I’m a food reviewer, content creator and I run a discovery platform covering food, accommodation, family days out and experiences.
I’m just a normal person trying places and telling you what I genuinely think.

If something is an AD, paid feature or gifted opportunity, I disclose that clearly. You’ll know it’s a promotion — it isn’t pretending to be an independent review.

But when I’m reviewing something, I’ll always give you my genuine opinion.

I’m not here to big businesses up for the sake of it.
But I’m also not here to discredit businesses either.

Everyone's entitled to an off day. 🤷‍♂️
And honestly, there’s a big difference between giving a genuine opinion and deliberately running businesses into the ground because controversy gets views.

Some creators have built their whole platform around negativity because controversy gets attention.

That’s just the reality of social media.
I’d rather show you places I actually enjoy, tell you what I think, and let YOU decide whether you want to go and try them.

You don't need to be a chef to know whether you like a steak. 😂

£13 FOR A FRY… AND ABOUT 12 BEANS?! 😂

Right, I’d never ordered from Market Cafe before, so I thought I’d give it a go.

Got it delivered, and I’m not going to lie… £13 for a fry had me thinking, “This better be some fry.”

But listen, I don’t mind paying for quality. If the food’s good, I’ll happily pay it.

Then the delivery driver handed me the box…

And I thought:

“That feels light.” 👀

Opened it up…

One sausage. 😂

Now, to be fair, the sausage was really good quality. Definitely not your standard chippy sausage.

The bacon was also proper thick-cut bacon, so you can tell they’re using quality ingredients.

BUT…

It was very fatty and, for me, needed cooked a bit longer.

The hash brown? Lovely.

The toasted sourdough? Lovely.

The poached egg? Cooked perfectly.

Then I opened the little tub of beans…

THERE WAS ABOUT 12 BEANS IN IT. 😂😂😂

Market Cafe… lads… what happened?!

Was there a bean shortage?!

I’m not asking for a swimming pool of beans, but come on. 😂

Overall, I actually would try it again.

I think next time I’d probably sit in, because maybe the portions and preparation are different when you're eating in rather than getting it delivered.

But Market Cafe, if you're seeing this…

Give us a few more beans and cook that bacon a wee bit longer and I think you're onto a winner. 👌

You realise they don't take online orders.

And suddenly it's:

And that's it.
