Day 16 of is Goals! I think I take quite a relaxed approach to the growth of my illustration & I've really enjoyed letting commisions and personal requests lead me. Day 15 of is Time. The main use of my time is raising my toddler terror which includes, but is not limited to teaching them to not pull the dog's fur, throw my belongings in the bath and not to eat stickers.⁠
I work in nap times and sometimes in the evening if possible although my toddler does love staying up! ⁠

Day 8 of is Best decision! I guess saying having a baby is an easy one, but my son really has been the best motivation to me. The best decision I think I made in terms of my business and illustration was branching out into nursery prints. I feel like it's given me so much more scope & ignited my love of illustration again ⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠

Day 7 of is Favourite! My favourite illustrations to do are animal or botanical creations. Nowadays my favourite way to create is to sketch on procreate, print out, trace onto watercolour paper to paint before scanning and manipulating to print! These butterflies were an illustration I started agggges ago and decided to finish off between commissions. I've since also turned them into stickers!⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠

Day 4 of is 3 things so I'll give you three facts about me or my brand!⁠
1. This print has been one of my most popular to date and was made when I was pregnant during the first lockdown. I used an old-school technique of using a Berol handwriting pen & a brush with water to create greyscale tones. Printed onto handmade paper it gives a beautiful finish!⁠
2. The name of my brand was changed to Bean & Bear. This comes from my nickname my brother gave me which has been taken on by my husband 'Jenni-bean' shortened to bean and the bear is our little bear cub we had in 2020!⁠
3. I studied illustration at BCU and graduated in 2011 (wow I feel old now 😅). I always knew I'd have to have other ways of making money alongside illustration but I love being able to do this!⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠
