A Brief Introduction To Paid Advertising & what we at H.I.L actually dođđ»
So rather than explaining the multitude of benefits that paid advertising brings to each business that uses it effectively, I thought I would explain what I actually mean by âPaid Advertisingâ.
Itâs different to traditional print advertising where youâd put an image in a newspaper or a local handout and then wait for people to come in.
Itâs more complicated (sorry!) but itâs VASTLY more effective for generating profits for your business.

In basic terms, the main stages of paid advertising are:
đđ» Creating a campaign for your offers/promotions
đđ» Choosing an online audience of people (your potential customers) that you want to target
đđ» Creating an (or multiple) advert(s) to put in front of this audience in the hopes that they âtake actionâ
This âActionâ can be whatever you determine.
It could be:
- Purchasing a product from your website
- Filling out a contact form on your website
- Visiting your website
- Watching your video
- Downloading your app

The key things youâll want to consider when creating these campaigns are:
đ€ What are you hoping to get out of your campaign? What's your goal?
đ€ How will you measure the success of your campaign?
đ€ Who is your target market that youâd like to target?
đ€ What offer can you put in front of them that makes them âtake actionâ?
đ€ What âactionâ are you wanting them to take?
(There are a lot more considerations when it comes to a paid advertising campaign but these are the foundational ones to think about)
Once all this is figured out, itâs then a case of starting to think about budget, advanced targeting options, analytics and more.
