We’re thrilled to share the news that we’ve been appointed by Wikimedia UK to design and develop its new website following a highly competitive procurement process.

Wikimedia UK is the national charity that supports and grows the UK’s contribution to free knowledge through projects including Wikipedia, and forms part of the global Wikimedia movement.

Its mission, arguably more important now than ever, is to enable people across the UK to engage with open knowledge and access reliable information, helping them develop their understanding of the world and make informed decisions about the issues that affect them.

Through partnerships with cultural institutions, educators and communities, Wikimedia UK works to share underrepresented knowledge, train contributors, and help ensure the world’s information reflects a broader and more inclusive range of voices.

The new website project will focus on creating a more accessible, engaging and user-centred digital experience that strengthens participation, supports volunteering and donations, improves accessibility, and better communicates Wikimedia UK’s impact and mission.

Belvin Tawuya, Head of Development and Communication at Wikimedia UK, said: “Hotfoot impressed us throughout the process with their clear approach, strong understanding of our requirements, and collaborative way of working. We were particularly encouraged by their thoughtful balance of inclusive stakeholder engagement, practical delivery, accessibility, and long-term support.”

The project marks the beginning of a new partnership between the two organisations, with Hotfoot working closely with the Wikimedia UK team to deliver a digital platform that supports the charity’s mission and future growth.

Celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, Hotfoot is one of the North’s leading digital and creative agencies, partnering with charities, cultural institutions and public sector organisations across the UK and beyond, including St John International, Ordnance Survey, upReach, Central and North West London NHS Health Charity and Hudson Valley Shakespeare in New York.

We’re delighted to announce that Hotfoot has been appointed by upReach to lead the redesign and redevelopment of their website, alongside a wider brand alignment project.

upReach is an award-winning social mobility charity working to ensure that everyone has an equal opportunity to realise their full career potential, regardless of social background. Since 2021, the organisation has undergone transformational growth, tripling income, doubling headcount, expanding into multiple UK cities, and earning national recognition for its impact on social mobility.

The new project will support upReach’s next phase of growth through a more accessible, engaging and strategically aligned digital experience, helping the charity better connect with students, partners, funders and supporters. The work will include a new website platform, improved user journeys, enhanced storytelling and analytics capabilities, alongside a light-touch brand evolution and updated tone of voice guidance.

Lidia Barbuti, Head of Marketing and Communications at upReach, said: “Hotfoot’s proposal really stood out throughout the process. We’re incredibly excited about what we’re going to create together and look forward to building a website and brand experience that truly reflects upReach’s ambition and impact.”

The project will focus on delivering a modern, user-centred platform that balances compelling storytelling with intuitive user experience, helping different audiences more easily engage with upReach’s programmes, partnerships and mission.

Alongside the website redevelopment, Hotfoot will also support the refinement of upReach’s visual identity, tone of voice and brand guidelines, ensuring greater consistency and confidence across digital and print communications.

Hotfoot partners with ambitious charities, public sector organisations and purpose-led brands across the UK and beyond, including St John International, Ordnance Survey and Hudson Valley Shakespeare.

It was a fun day at James Cropper Paper & Packaging for some of the Hottie creative and branding team yesterday to learn all about the paper making process and science behind brand colour matching - you could guess the big brands just by colour of the rolls.

Thanks to Zoe Lovell, Jordan Scott and team for the tour 🥰 💪

We had a great morning on a photoshoot recce with our lovely client Feather & Springs.

The house was exactly what we needed for shooting their luxury handmade mattresses as part of a major brand and website overhaul 🙂

We were proud to have been finalists at the Prolific North Champions Awards for Best Not for Profit Campaign, alongside our brilliant client Alison Whittaker-Stewart and the team at Together An Active Future.

Our work on the We Are Undefeatable campaign has already made a real impact across Lancashire, helping more people living with long term health conditions to get active, and it’s now being rolled out nationally across the UK.

It was a fantastic evening celebrating some of the best creative work in the North and being recognised alongside so many respected agencies and inspiring campaigns.

Some beautiful print has been coming through our studio lately.

We were recently commissioned to create the official souvenir guide, bringing story and design together in something visitors can take away and treasure.

From initial concept through to final print, every detail was carefully considered to capture the charm of Beatrix Potter’s world, from paper stock to illustration and typography, creating a piece that feels timeless.

This follows our work in creating a new brand identity and website for this iconic Lake District attraction.

The Victoria Wood Theatre in Bowness-on-Windermere has unveiled a new brand identity and website, marking an important moment in the venue’s evolution.

The theatre was renamed after the legendary comedian and playwright last year to celebrate her legacy.

Designed by our team, the new identity and digital experience reflect the theatre’s intimate scale, creative ambition and deep connection to storytelling, while honouring its association with Victoria Wood.

Visitors can now explore productions, events and booking information through a clearer digital journey that reflects the theatre’s personality and sense of place.

The fully accessible website places greater emphasis on usability and audience experience, with a seamless Ticketsolve integration for ticket sales.

Becky Sewell, Creative Lead, said:

“This was a genuinely collaborative process from start to finish. The team at The Victoria Wood Theatre brought such clarity, passion and care for the venue’s legacy. Our role was to help shape that into a brand and website that truly reflects who they are.

“The theatre has a very particular magic. It is intimate, human and deeply loved. Together, we created an identity and digital experience that feels confident, contemporary and enduring, while leaving space for the stories, performers and people to take centre stage.”

The rebrand coincides with the world premiere of the new musical Fourteen Again, with music and lyrics by Victoria Wood.

Sarah Melhuish, Marketing Manager at The Victoria Wood Theatre, said:

“We were thrilled to unveil our bold and vibrant new theatre branding as we enter an exciting new chapter for The Victoria Wood Theatre.

“This milestone gave us the perfect opportunity to design a fresh logo, update our signage, reimagine the foyer, and launch a sophisticated, stylish website that reflects who we are.

“We were eager to work with a local company and Hotfoot understood our vision from the very beginning. They have delivered striking graphics and a dynamic, user-friendly website that will support our busy theatre and season of performances and events for years to come.”
