When I moved to Lancaster with my partner three and a half years ago, I didn't know anyone. I still don't really know many people, let alone q***r people like myself.

So, I've built a (hopefully) game-changing resource for q***r people in Lancaster to find each other and events for people like us. It's called lancaster.gay, and it's a directory of q***r social groups and events in Lancaster.

You can find groups and events, and each one has a prominent target audience so you can easily identify if that group or event is for you, specifically, with visual cues as well.

It's cute as hell, and I hope other people find it useful. I hope other people submit groups and events, and contribute to the q***r network I'm hoping to build.

If you run a group or event that you think fits the bill, please get in touch. I’ve sent some emails out to groups I know about, but if you know anyone who might benefit from this then do spread the word.

I’ve now officially launched the website for !

You can watch my progress as I make more cards, and you can learn about the cards on the site.

It’s built in the static site generator eleventy and hosted on Netlify. I use CSS custom properties, the modern element to load new image formats depending on browser support (to increase performance) and is highly accessible.
