3 outfits I’d wear on Christmas Day in my Style Code if I was going home to the UK 🎄

1. WINTER WALKER: I love the leather leggings with a cosy festive knit and Grenson boots look for an elevated casual Christmas Day. Pop on your puffer coat and boots to walk off your dinner in the afternoon with family. This is a very popular look I’ve created in many different variations for clients this Winter. Obvz I’d pair with a matching Red festive lip.

2. TOO GLAM TO GIVE A DAMN: This is what I’d wear if I wanted to feel Uber glam but cosy on Christmas Day. I love this bright pink knit paired with a leather skirt and tights for an effortless smart casual glam look. You could wear your slippers under the table and boots out. I’d pair with a statement earring and eye look.

3: LOUNGING AROUND THE CHRISTMAS TREE: If I wanted to spend the day in my PJ’s/Lounge wear I’d do it in style by pairing this fluffy white Knit under some luxury loungewear. Cosy and chic all day paired with a statement earring pop of colour and my hair and makeup done to top it off.

Which one is your Favourite? 1, 2 OR 3?

The high street and shopping as we know it, is changing lovelies and has been for a long time. Covid is merely that extra nail in the coffin for many brands like Topshop who are set to enter administration. It’s very sad but the karma of fast fashion is finally doing a full circle. Unfortunately, it’s the staff who suffer and lose out the most and it’s not their fault.

The high Street for years has failed to adapt and change. Quality has dwindled over the years to squeeze profit margins and it’s not good enough. Shoppers today want not only quality but an experience and personalisation.

This very frustration and observation of my own 5 years ago was one of my motivations to create style code. I remember saying “You wouldn’t buy a foundation without being colour matched by a makeup artist, so why isn’t the same service being applied to buying clothes?”

Until brands come around to this way of thinking, its up to us to educate ourselves and is why I wanted to teach Women how to customise the noise of fashion for themselves with Style Code.

Now more than ever Online shopping is becoming our norm and loosing that feel, try and touch of shopping is very hard for many. I think now is the time to press pause, invest in yourself and discover your personal style.

I predict the Personal Styling industry is about to (already is) have a boom. And as we get used to shopping from home, I’d say brands need to give us a reason to visit their stores in the future. An experience, emotional connection and personal service

Well I’ve rambled on and shared my thoughts on the situ but I’d love to hear what yours are below?

P.S. I’ll miss my Jamie jeans, the only Topshop product I’ve recommended for years 👖

Would you believe we only actually wear 20% of our wardrobes? ✨

This used to be the case for me and is for every client I meet. That 20% is usually what you love, wear most and what works for your Style Code. The 80% left in there is usually just ‘noise and distraction’ creating confusion and clutter 🤯 I find the 80% is usually what a client really needs (and wants) to let go of but will struggle to before knowing their Style Code. It’s difficult for them as it feels like throwing away money and memories.

After, they feel clear and cathartic 😌 like a huge weight has been lifted. By the time I finish working with a client on their style code journey, their entire wardrobe becomes that 20%. A capsule wardrobe in fact 🙌🏻

I did my own little edit at the weekend and discovered 3 items I’m not wearing and that the rest of my capsule consists of only 27 items. It’s funny because ppl freak out about that but they probably wear the same amount of clothes as me. The difference is they have that extra 80% hanging in their wardrobe which makes them feel like they have and need more. I wear and love all of my capsule 🥰

If you want to discover your 20%, pull out the items you love and wear most. They probably end up in the laundry basket every week 😉

Before you fill your basket 🛒 Read this....

Yes it’s Black Friday lovelies and every where you look is SALE, SALE, SALE! This is a great thing for those Wardrobe investments you’ve been watching online for weeks 👏🏻But it can also mean aimless spending ‘just’ because it was reduced leading to more clutter and more unworn items with tags on hanging in your closet. Sooooo I thought I’d share my top tips to help you get the most from this weekends savings 🙋🏻‍♀️

1️⃣ Never ever buy in a state of ‘Panic’ 😫
I call this being a ‘reactive’ shopper rather than proactive. We never make rational purchases in a state of panic, mix that with Black Friday savings and you’ve got a recipe for disaster 💰💸💶 Step away from the laptop, take a deep breathe and only return when you feel calm and logical. Then....

2️⃣Want or Need? Ask yourself this question honestly! This is the perfect time to invest in those items your Wardrobe really needs. ‘Want’ can be those magpie eyes drawing you into the shiny pretty things on sale 😂🤩 Then....

3️⃣ Edit your basket 🛒 I never buy straight after I’ve filled my basket, I go through an edit 2-3 times to whittle it down to exactly what I really need and love most. Then I leave it for an hour (or a day, to double check I really want them.

Then you can click purchase feeling good about all your decisions 🥰 Happy Shopping lovelies, I hope this was useful?

Saying these words out loud for the first time during a counselling session 7 years ago was the moment I truly connected how I was representing myself on the outside, to the real me on the inside.

During my time of self discovery there and letting go of the grief of losing my Mum, I come to realise that the person I was before was using clothes as an armour to represent a part of myself I created to cope. Hiding the real me. I was disconnected, materialistic and very much a consumer using clothes to fill an empty whole.

Working on myself and reconnecting with the real me reignited my creativity and sparked my interest into personal style.

Going through such a huge transition on the inside made my wardrobe at the time, start to look like someone else’s.

Discovering personal style to represent the real me on the outside, over time disconnected me from materialism, fast fashion, trends and aimless spending.

Creating a more purposeful, meaningful relationship with clothes that was healthier and an expression of my true self. The effect on my confidence (and bank balance) was huge and the catalyst for my career change leading to the creation of Style Code.

I am so so so passionate about helping Women who are also on a journey of self discovery and often it’s ‘one’ moment (like mine) that plants the seed of awareness to create change:

1. Buying clothes every week.
2. Constantly filling baskets online without buying.
3. A more for less approach to buying.
4. A wardrobe full of clothes with tags still on.
5. Constantly buying one particular item such as dresses, shoes or the same colour lipstick (even though you don’t need it).
6. Chasing fashion trends.
7. Buying everything your favourite blogger posts.
8. Having multiple cluttered wardrobes.
9. Constantly feeling like you have nothing to wear.
10. Attaching your confidence and how you dress to what the scales say.

Which numbers can you relate to lovelies?

I was all 10 😂😳🙈

That 24 hour post Style Code glow 🍂✨

I love this pic I received from client Emma the day after her Virtual Style Code discovery session. Emma woke up feeling excited to get dressed for the first time in a long time, popped some makeup on following her code info, popped to the shops and chose a colour she never would have chose before and paired it with a leopard skirt she completely forgot she had (and now loves). “Thank you so much, I actually feel excited” she said.

I was so happy to see Emma was already getting her spark back after hearing she had lost her confidence due to surgically induced menopause that forced her body to go through massive changes. This is huge for Women and understandably overtime can spiral into a cycle of covering up in baggy clothes and avoiding shopping.

Emma lost her way but is 100% back and better than before now she is armed with the knowledge of her personal style code. She’s even ordered a full length mirror, yesssss gorgeous lady!

Online or offline, Style Code is a long term investment into yourself with an immediate effect 🥰

It’s beginning to look a lot like Autumn 🍂 but what does Autumn style look like for you?

I love these cosy looking autumnal tones (not that they suit me) from &EM and these are the ‘classic’ tones we see every year. However, there is more than one way to do ‘Autumn Style and not everyone’s Autumn Style code reflects browns, rusts or earthy tones. In fact, they can be many’s worst draining colours (like me 🙋🏻‍♀️).

And it’s so easy to let your wardrobe be led by ‘seasonal’ colours and trends instead of having a capsule that is yours and represents YOU throughout all seasons.

This is another reason why so many wardrobes end up full of a mish mash of styles, patterns and colours for all seasons with no consistency.

Learning your Style Code helps you set your own Style without feeling pulled along by trends or looking like everyone else, no matter what the season or occasion.

Get in touch for Virtual style code sessions before you run out and spend your hard earned money on that investment camel coat.....

S T Y L E C O D E M A K E O V E R 😍

Can we get a little love over here for Katherine 👇🏻She looks beautiful before but beautiful AND confident after. Wouldn’t you agree?

Katherine was such a pleasure to work with and was so ready to start putting herself first again, being a lovely Mum who works very hard and looks after everyone else first. She found herself stuck in a bit of a rut.

She no longer wanted to feel ‘drab’ and was ready step out of the Sainsbury’s jeggings. But didn’t know where to start after that.

Luckily she contacted me 🙋🏻‍♀️

She discovered her style code last week and is now ‘buzzing’ as she described it. Discovering she actually has a style (her words not mine), what colours suited her best, what her body shape is (she was shocked) and how to dress it (she’s 2 sizes smaller than she thought ☺️). Yep, look at that waist 😍🔥

WARNING! Confidence, sudden urges to shop, wardrobe decluttering and taking pictures of yourself are all serious side effect of Style Code.

I warned her and yep, I can confirm that the side effects are already becoming very serious 😉
