Evidently, I’m easily excited. I arrived on location to photograph Barn Owls for the first time - and found a feather on the ground exactly where I was planning to be. That’s was a very encouraging moment- and a good omen!

This Pyramidal Orchid (Anacamptis pyramidalis) is probably the UK’s most common orchid. These vibrant, cone-shaped beauties are a true sign of a healthy, species-rich chalk grassland, and quite typical of the hills above in early June. Not only are they gorgeous, but their long nectar spurs are perfectly evolved to feed our native butterflies and day-flying moths.

I was lucky enough to spend the weekend the Usk in beautiful with some good friends and found this beauty. It’s amazing how varied patterns and colours can be. It’s lovely so be able to see them briefly before returning them to the river

I’ve been invited to speak on a very niche subject at this years Craft Cider conference... can you guess what its about? I’ll be taking (and talking) a retrospective look at some of the cider photography work I’ve done over the last 20 years. It’s going to be difficult trying to fit 2+ decades of photography into an hour but I’m going to try!
