๐ŸŒŸ Elevating Customer Service: Timeless Strategies for Success ๐ŸŒŸ

In the realm of business, the importance of exceptional customer service cannot be overstated. At Fleek Marketing, we believe that understanding and anticipating customer needs forms the cornerstone of lasting business success.

Here are three evergreen tips to enhance your customer service:

๐—Ÿ๐—ถ๐˜€๐˜๐—ฒ๐—ป ๐—”๐—ฐ๐˜๐—ถ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ๐—น๐˜†: Truly understanding your customers' needs starts with active listening. Encourage your team to engage deeply with customer concerns and feedback.

The government published six sector AI adoption plans back on 8 June and they landed in a crowded news cycle, so most people missed them. I have been through all six.

Not one of them mentions marketing. Read them back to back and they describe it almost exactly.

The bit that stuck with me: adopting AI is the easy half. Embedding it into how the work actually gets done is the hard half, and the numbers show most firms have not done it. Sixty-nine per cent have expanded AI training. Seventy per cent report limited progress on redesigning the work itself.

Marketing is usually the worst offender, and for a boring reason. Marketing gets the tools first and changes the process last.

The test I keep coming back to is a simple one. Does the work survive someone going on holiday? If a workflow stops the day one person takes a week off, nobody integrated anything, somebody is just carrying it.

Curious what other people think. If you run a business, where would your marketing fall over first if the person who holds it all in their head disappeared for a fortnight?

Funny how often I hear "we tried AI and it was a bit rubbish". Usually it is not the AI. It is being asked to do the thinking instead of the doing. I have written up what actually works. Do you find AI useful for your marketing, or underwhelming?

Think youโ€™re too small to be a cyber target?
So did 57% of SMEs last year.

I attended a brilliant session hosted by Not Just Numbers and HSBC in Leeds, with the North East Business Resilience Centre, and one thing was crystal clear:

๐Ÿ‘‰ Cybersecurity isnโ€™t an IT issue anymore โ€” itโ€™s a business, brand and marketing issue.

43% of SMEs experienced a cyber incident in the last 12 months.
Most started with something simple: a password, a phishing email, a moment of urgency.

Iโ€™ve turned my notes from the session into a blog focused on what SMEs actually need to do โ€” without jargon, fear-mongering or tech overwhelm.

Something I see again and again with business owners. You have built real trust over years, the kind that makes existing clients stay and refer you. Then you look at the website, and almost none of that trust is actually visible on it.

That matters more than it used to. Google's quality raters and the AI tools people now search with, ChatGPT, AI Overviews and the rest, weigh trustworthiness when they decide who to show and recommend. If the signals are not on the page, the trust stays in the room and the website stays quiet.

This Friday, Pascal Fintoni and I are going live to talk through the T in E-E-A-T, Trustworthiness, with real examples of what it looks like on a page.

Where do you think trust actually shows up on a website? Come and tell us live.

Friday 17 July, 10:15am, on LinkedIn and YouTube.

A few months ago I was a heavy AI user and still the bottleneck in my own business. Now there is an operating system running the agency, and it means my clients get more of my thinking, not less. On Tuesday 28 July I am opening the whole thing up at an AI meetup in Leeds, hosted by Digital Epix, then opening it out to the room. If you are curious what it looks like to run a business on AI rather than just use it, come along. The Rose Bowl, Leeds, 6pm to 8pm.

๐Ÿ’ฐ Innovative Pricing Strategies: The Key to Boosting Profitability ยฃ

Pricing isnโ€™t just about numbers; itโ€™s about perception, strategy, and aligning value with expectations. Inspired by a brilliant session I attended with Mark Ritson at a Mailchimp event, Iโ€™ve explored how small changes in pricing can lead to big profitability gainsโ€”and Iโ€™m excited to share my takeaways in my latest blog.

From tools like the Van Westendorp pricing meter to strategic techniques like anchoring and tiered pricing, this blog dives into practical ways businesses can optimise their pricing strategies to deliver sustainable growth.

Hereโ€™s a sneak peek of what youโ€™ll learn: ๐Ÿ”‘ How a 1% price increase can deliver up to 10% more profit ๐Ÿ›  Tools like the Van Westendorp pricing meter to find the optimal price range ๐ŸŽฏ Communicating price effectively with tactics like anchoring and presenting value over discounts

But this isnโ€™t just a one-way conversation! ๐Ÿ’ฌ ๐Ÿ‘‰ Have you experimented with pricing strategies in your business? ๐Ÿ‘‰ What has workedโ€”or not workedโ€”for you?

I'd love to hear your thoughts and insights. Letโ€™s share ideas and learn from each other! ๐ŸŒŸ

Interesting shift from Google this week, worth a quick word if you run a business online.

For about twenty years, Google Search Console (the free tool showing how you appear in Google) only worked for websites you own. As of this week you can also connect your Instagram, TikTok, X and YouTube accounts, and see the actual search terms sending people to your posts there.

Plenty of people are reading it as Google grabbing more data. And it is. My take is a bit different. The more you give these systems, the more you tend to get back. Google can treat your website and socials as one brand rather than guessing, and for the first time you can see what people searched before they found your content. That second part is the useful bit, you can shape what you post next around what people are genuinely looking for.

I would connect the accounts and watch what the search terms tell you.
