Celebrating 5 years of Stand Out Social this week!

I mean , where does the time go!

I’m so grateful to all my brilliant clients who have trusted me over the years with their socials in whatever form I’ve helped with.

Honestly, being my own boss is a whirlwind, but the flexibility is everything. I love that I can build my workday around family life rather than the other way around—whether it’s being there for the school run (although I don’t get to do this anymore 🥲) or just setting my own pace. It’s not always easy, but having the freedom to prioritise what truly matters is a gift I never take for granted!

Content habits that just make sense for business owners!

Want to stop the social media scramble? It's time to build habits that make content creation easy, strategic, and successful.

Here are the game-changing routines I swear by:

1️⃣ Block it Out: Dedicate half a day a week for a scheduled "date" with your design bestie (hello, Canva!). Consistency is key.

2️⃣ Capture the Gold: Keep a running list in your phone's Notes app. When a brilliant content idea hits you (in the shower, driving, or talking to a client), add it instantly!

3️⃣ Snap & Share: Take quick photos and videos of your daily business activities—behind the scenes, products, team, etc.—to fuel authentic stories and main feed posts.

4️⃣ Schedule: Use a scheduler! Batch-plan and pre-load your entire month's content. This is a total game-changer for stress-free posting.

5️⃣ Ask and Deliver: Your clients hold the answers! Directly ask them about their main struggles, questions, or needs, and base your most valuable content around those answers.

6️⃣ Repurpose Power: Don't just post once! Turn one great idea (like a blog post or video) into 5 pieces of content: a carousel, an Insta reel, a series of stories, a quick tweet, and a newsletter snippet. Maximum impact for minimum effort!

Should you outsource your social media marketing or keep it in-house?

Mmmm, this is certainly a dilemma for some businesses. In-house and outsourcing have their own pros and cons, and there’s no one-size-fits-all all approach in social media success. Consider what you should invest in, what tasks can be taken off your workload, and what level of expertise your business needs to boost engagement, sales, or brand awareness.

I have lots of different types of clients, ranging from clients who leave it all to me with little input to clients who do their own social media but top up their knowledge monthly with training, to clients who just need monthly templates created for them.

The great thing about my role within your business is that I can be whatever help you need. So whether you want to outsource or keep it in house ... maybe there's a way that I can take away some of that SMM stress - because yes as we all know there’s a lot to social media marketing!

Coffee’s hot, laptop’s open, and your brain is suddenly a blank page 😱

You know the value you offer, but the words just won’t come out?

You know the value your business offers. But when it comes to crafting a post that actually lands and connects, you just freeze up.

It’s usually a sign that you’ve lost focus on the WHY. You’re stressing over the algorithm and the “right” thing to post instead of just talking to the people who need you.

Go back to basics:
Why did you start this business in the first place? (It wasn’t to be a social media star!)

Your content doesn’t have to be perfect. It just has to solve a problem or speak directly to a pain point. That’s the core of great marketing.

What is the single, simple sentence that defines your business’s solution? That clarity is what your audience needs to see right now.
