We are Abigail and Chloe, a design duo, who are also known as Buttercrumble. We are passionate about collaborating with other creative people who believe in the power of good design.

Hello! 👋 I'm Abigail, and I co-founded Buttercrumble alongside my twin sister, Chloe. Part of my role is to steer the creative direction of the work we do, but how do we stay inspired?

🎨 Museums and galleries. We love visiting our local , where we can study colour, composition and storytelling in a curated form. It's a beautiful space!

🌿 Nature and outdoor spaces. Parks, the coast (big up Scarborough), and even small urban green spaces inspire us! The textures and colours are constantly shifting with the seasons.

📚 Books and editorial design. We love collecting all sorts of publications. Typography, layout and imagery can work together to create mood and meaning.

We're excited to see the return of the Water Taxis at . Back in 2017 (nearly 10 years ago), we designed the map which appeared in the taxis, and we always loved to hop aboard. It's a brilliant service that takes you from Leeds Train Station down the canal to the dock.

Thank you to for taking over the service. We're looking forward to visiting soon. 💛

Chloe, recently stepped away from the studio to complete a Mental Health First Aid course. She is now a certified 'MHFA England' Mental Health First Aider. 💖

At Buttercrumble, we care deeply about mental health and the importance of approaching others with openness, empathy, and understanding.

Life can be tough. Sometimes we know exactly how to support someone (or ourselves), and other times we won’t. It’s tricky for everyone! Yet, being willing to listen, and to help guide people towards the right support can make all the difference. ✨

A huge thank you to Sleigh Services for delivering such thoughtful and valuable training, and for helping make the world a little kinder. 🙏
