Introducing the Workplace Thyroid Toolkit!

Last year we had some initial discussions Prof Catia Montagna and Prof Alexandros Zangelidis where we discussed the creation of a took kit for employers so that they could support employees with thyroid disease in the workplace.

They also had discussions with other charities and we are thrilled to see that their work continued.

The FREE Workplace Thyroid Toolkit is a practical resource designed to support employees living with thyroid conditions and help employers foster a more inclusive, informed, and healthy workplace.

The toolkit was developed by Montagna, Zangelidis ( School, University of Aberdeen) in partnership with , and edited and designed in collaboration with .

Why it matters: Thyroid dysfunction affects 1 in 20 people - yet it's often misunderstood or overlooked at work.

Their toolkit helps to raise awareness and understanding of thyroid conditions; support open conversations between managers and staff and improve wellbeing and boost productivity

Whether you're in HR, management, or an employee affected by the condition, this toolkit is for you.

If you have thyroid disease and are struggling with work this tool kit will help you to make some changes to support you.

To access the Toolkit, you will need to fill in a form so that the researchers can gain an insight into what people’s roles are at work and how many people access it.

We want this toolkit to reach everyone with thyroid disease so please do share it. Use it. Start the conversation!

🔬✨ Presenting the debut piece in our Research Insight series! ✨🔬

Dr Manuela Perrotta dives into the world of IVF with her research on "Sharing time-lapse videos with IVF patients." 📹

While these videos are treasured, they can also inadvertently bring anxiety and confusion. 🤯 Dr Manuela advocates for a more compassionate and informed approach.

Because you asked for it, "Now What?" is back!

Our "Now What?" programme is a 4-week online course where you can learn how to produce a 2-page visual document to share your research.

After running the programme in July, we have decided to space out the sessions a bit more so you have more time to implement what you learn.

There are up to 10 places available per cohort. Don't miss out!

This week we are starting a new collaboration with a team formed of researchers from the University of Cambridge and Brunel University London

We will be developing a range of engaging materials to communicate the project findings including:
- an interactive toolkit
- a visual summary
- a series of comics 👀

Looking forward to this collaboration unfolding over summer!
