Sarah Leeds joined 21 Degrees Digital in January as our Head of SEO.

Since then, she has been leading SEO strategy across our client portfolio, with one clear focus.

Commercial outcomes over vanity metrics.

Now we are building the next phase of the SEO function.

We are looking to grow the department by three additional staff.

With that, we are targeting a 38% increase in revenue.

As search becomes more AI driven, we are doubling down on joined up marketing that connects brand and performance.

Happy 4 year anniversary, Dec.

Thank you for four years of hard work, creativity, great energy and proper team spirit.

Whether he’s building campaigns, driving ROI, bringing fresh ideas to the table or smashing guitars on the weekend, Dec brings the same passion to everything he does.

"The last 4 years at 21 have been awesome. Going from an apprentice to feeling like a bigger part of the wider team has been really rewarding and satisfying. The best part has been meeting and working with the rest of the crew. They never fail to make me feel better about my day, and it’s a pleasure to work with such good people! I’ve also learned everything I know about marketing from 21 Degrees, having never done it before starting here, and it’s crazy to look at how far I’ve come, it makes me very proud."

A huge part of the team and a big part of what makes 21, 21.

Mums have a way of keeping things simple and spotting what does not make sense.

So here’s a quick marketing test.

If your mum landed on your website or saw your ad, would she instantly understand what you do?

If the answer is no, it might be time to strip it back.

Clear messaging wins.

Simple sells.

And the best marketing does not make people work for the answer.
Could your marketing pass the mum test?

International Women’s Week is a chance to recognise the women who help shape 21 Degrees Digital every day.

Women make up 33% of our company, 20% of our Senior Leadership Team, and 50% of our Heads of Department.

Those numbers matter, but what matters even more is the talent, perspective, ambition and leadership behind them.

We are proud to work alongside women who bring so much to our business, our culture and our clients.

That includes Rachel, our Account Manager, who started her journey with us as an apprentice and has worked her way up through the business.

Her progression is a brilliant example of what can happen when talent is supported, hard work is recognised, and people are given the space to grow.

This week is about celebrating that progress, acknowledging the work still to do, and being proud of the women helping drive our agency forward.

A huge shoutout to Colette, Sarah, Rachel, Bella and Shona.

Yorkshire is full of women building brilliant businesses, leading teams, shaping strategy and pushing tech and marketing forward.

This post is our way of celebrating just a few of the women making a real impact across the region.

From startup founders to agency leaders, each of these women is helping shape what modern leadership looks like in Yorkshire.

We love shining a light on the people creating momentum, opening doors and building things with purpose.

Here’s to the women driving change, challenging the norm and proving that great leadership looks many different ways.

A strong PPC budget is not about picking a number and hoping for the best.

It starts with the outcome you want to achieve.

Then it works backwards from revenue targets, lead quality, close rates, margins, and real return on investment.

The businesses that get more from PPC are not always the ones spending the most.

They are the ones budgeting with clarity, measuring properly, and scaling what is actually working.

If you want better ROI, better budgeting is a good place to start.

What do you think businesses get wrong most often when setting a PPC budget?

Hosted by Rory Mason, it brings together honest business conversations, brilliant guests, and a format that is far more interesting than your usual founder interview.

So far, the guest list includes Levi Fowler of Fowler and Powell, Ginny Nicholls of Interim Digital, and Nick Wilmshurst of Ginger Wizard Productions. From building an estate agency people genuinely like, to founder lessons, storytelling insight, and the realities of growing something from the ground up, every episode gives you a reason to keep listening.

If you want real stories, strong personalities, and a podcast that leaves you wanting more, The Brick Factor is well worth a listen.

Marketing should not feel unpredictable.

It should feel managed.

In her latest blog, our Head of Operations Rachel breaks down why marketing should be treated like an investment portfolio rather than a collection of disconnected tactics.

Just like financial portfolios, strong marketing strategies rely on disciplined allocation, diversification and long term thinking.

Relying on a single channel creates risk.

Balancing SEO, PPC and CRO builds stability, improves acquisition cost and strengthens revenue visibility.

The real question is not how much you spend on marketing.

It is how intelligently you allocate it.

Read Rachel’s latest blog to see how an integrated strategy can reduce volatility and turn marketing into a controllable commercial lever.

And if you want a clearer view of your current allocation, book a free Digital Marketing Healthcheck through our website

Search demand moves in patterns.
The winners are the brands that plan for it.

Seasonal search intent is when interest rises and falls throughout the year. If your content, ads, and landing pages are not live early, you miss the window and your competitors take the clicks.

If your marketing feels “sensible” right now, there’s a good chance it’s also invisible.

Arran, our PPC Junior Exec, wrote this blog because he keeps seeing the same pattern in accounts and campaigns: brands copy what looks proven, tidy, and logical, then wonder why performance flatlines and nobody remembers them.

Logic is brilliant for flying a plane or parking a car. In marketing, it pushes you back into the safe space where everyone else is already shouting. Feeds are chaos. People are distracted. They are not comparing features, they are choosing what feels familiar, what feels obvious, what takes the least effort.

This blog unpacks why clarity beats clever, why emotion leads and logic follows, and why “playing it safe” is often the most expensive decision you can make.

And then Arran lands it with one question that will either sharpen your brand instantly or expose the thing you have been avoiding.

Read it, then answer this honestly: what is your purple cow?
