Sometimes I wonder how many brilliant businesses are staying hidden because of one little thought.... “I’m not good enough.”

→Not because they aren’t talented.
→Not because they don’t care.
→Not because they don’t have something worth sharing.

But because they’re waiting until they feel more confident.

The thing is... I’ve never met a business owner who felt 100% ready (yes even the ones who are SUPER outgoing and confident still have insecurities and worries)

The ones who grow aren’t fearless... They just decide that the possibility of growing their business, posting that post and helping someone is bigger than the fear of being seen.

So, from one overthinker to another... post that post, your dreams are at the other side of your comfort zone… you’ve got this 🩷

One of my favourite parts of my job is getting to spend time inside other people’s businesses!

Watching the little moments. Listening to conversations. Seeing how they treat their customers. Learning what makes people stay, recommend them and come back again and the more businesses I spend time around, the more I realise something...

The ones people remember aren’t necessarily the biggest or the loudest or the ones with the most followers.

They’re the ones that feel human↓

→The ones with personality.
→The ones that make you feel welcome.
→The ones that stand for something.
→The ones that leave you thinking, “I really liked them.”

That’s why I believe social media is about so much more than posting consistently or chasing the latest trend.

It’s about giving people a reason to remember you... Because long after someone has forgotten a caption or a Reel... They’ll remember how your business made them feel🩷🪩

People often ask me what I actually do...

The easy answers would usually be... “I’m a social media manager.” “i film content for businesses ready to show up online” “I edit videos and posts” etc etc….

But that never feels like the full story. Because yes, I do all of that and a whole lot more… But I also spend a lot of time listening ↓

→ Listening to why someone started their business.
→ Listening to the stories they don’t think are interesting to share.
→ Listening to the moments that made them who they are.

Somewhere in those conversations, something always shifts. The pressure to sound “professional” starts to disappear. Their confidence starts to grow and eventually, their business starts sounding like them again!

That’s the bit that never makes it onto my services page because it’s ‘just what I do’ with every client & it’s the reason I love what I do.

Because I don’t think people remember businesses that try to be everything to everyone. I think they remember the ones that feel real and those are my favourite businesses to work with🪩🩷

I’ve spent a lot of time recently thinking about why some businesses stay in your mind long after you’ve scrolled past them…

It’s because they feel like someone. You know what they stand for. You recognise their voice. You trust them before you’ve even worked with them… and I wonder if that’s where so many business owners get stuck.

Somewhere along the way, we start believing we need to sound more professional, more polished, more like everyone else in our industry.

So we water down our personality. We second-guess our opinions. We post what we think we should say instead of what we actually want to say.

But people don’t connect with perfect businesses → They connect with people.

The businesses I remember aren’t always the loudest. They’re the ones that make me stop and think, “I really like them.”🩷

That’s what I want more business owners to realise… Your personality isn’t something to tone down. It’s the thing that makes people remember you!

So maybe the best thing you ever do for your business...is becoming more yourself! 🪩🩷

July has been more than I could have hoped for! 🥹

There were content shoots, client wins, new ideas, lots of coffee, plenty of editing... and quite a few moments where I realised I’m building Social Flare into something that feels more me!🪩

I’ve spent less time worrying about what social media managers are “supposed” to post and more time focusing on what I actually love... Helping good businesses tell their stories!

Whether that’s celebrating a fully booked diary, capturing the little moments people remember, or helping someone finally feel confident enough to show up online, that’s the part I’ll never get bored of!

So thank you to every client who trusted me with their business this month, every person who liked, commented, shared or messaged me and everyone following along, i appreciate you! 🩷
