People have asked me in the past what is it like working with such an iconic British brand...amazing!

We have been working with with Hovis now for a number of years.

It is a real joy to work with so many talented and riven people across the UK.

Always open to ideas and collaboration and a mutual respect that is hard to come by sometimes.

Here is a small glimpse into our world working with Hovis.

Taking you behind the scenes of the SCARAB | FAYAT Group T7 shoot which took place last December. Cold, wet and windy conditions and for a change thats exactly what we needed.

Great team effort by all involved.

Great to see the offical release last week of the T7 brand film.

We shot and produced this late last year on a rainy December evening.

A mighty machine closeup and something that is really going to shake up the industry.

Big team effort on the night and of course the pre planning stages many months before. We could not of done this without the help and enthusiasm of Callum Huthwaite and the rest of the Scarab team on site.

Big shout to the crew:

Marcos Avlonitis doing his Venice and anamorphic thing.

Additional sound design by Nick Granville-Fall (Ideosound)

Special mention to Richard Stagg for the initial intro all those months ago.

Bucking the trend this year.

GroceryAid

This year, Lucas Media chose to support GroceryAid instead of sending gifts - giving back to the FMCG community we work closely with. A small gesture, inspired by great people, that reflects who we are and the sector we’re proud to work in.

Great incite into the making of the holiday film from Apple

Always good to see how these things are made especially in a world where everyone thinks AI should be used.

Who would like to dress up in a blue suit and play with puppets??

Another masterclass from Apple big up to the Critter Carol crew.

As with all their video releases now everything seems to be shot on their iPhone Pro models.

Warm, funny and inviting. Many think Apple are rubbish at marketing but they seems to be doing OK.

What grabs people’s attention?

A smile.

A shared joke and chuckle between the team.

A leader in the business explaining why they love supporting their colleagues.

How is this all possible?

Well, video, of course?

These tactile moments that are captured whilst filming are pure gold in every sense of the word. They are the nuggets that can be used again and again.

Video helps to show people what your EVP is instead of having to explain it in paragraphs of text and imagery.

It authentically shows how it feels to work in your culture. You can’t fake joy, trust, and belonging.

It’s not always perfect and polished content that takes days and weeks to prepare for that has to be captured. Think more of the authentic content that is more honest and relatable.

Imperfections make the content real, so if there are stutters or mispronounced words, let them go and concentrate on the message. That’s what draws people in and helps them connect.

Your employer branding should be real people, telling real stories; that’s where the connection happens.

A top tip when filming people is to not load them with corporate questions to get a corporate answer. Let them speak in their own words, have a conversation instead of making them feel like they are on the 10 p.m. news.

As soon as they warm up, you will be amazed at what content you capture!
