🌝How important are Hashtags?
Hashtags are a great 👌 way to get your content or post seen organically. Each platform allows a number of hashtags which you can add to your post, but the question 🙋♀️ is that what is recommended to use on each platform?
✅Facebook: Upto character limit (recommended 3-5 per post)
✅Instagram: 30 (recommended 5 - 15)
✅Twitter: Upto character value ( recommended 2)
✅Linkedin: Upto character value (recommended 3-5)
✅Tik Tok: Upto character value (recommended 5)
So what is the big fuss 🤦🏼 about hashtags and how can you use them to your advantage is the question which everyone is looking for.
Hashtags allows your posts to gain popularity 📈 and they are like a ticket 🎫 which gives your post entry into a specific group without having to be a part of it.
Hashtags are great and we are always looking to improve our hashtag strategy, with many platforms allowing more than 10 hashtags per post, but it may not be wise to use so many hashtags per post.
This is because you are opening your content being less effective with the hashtags, which may not be effective and not relevant to your content as each hashtag has relevance to a particular type and you may not get the popularity you may want as you filtering your post on so many groups looking for that vital engagement, that may not happen.
🔴So what should you do?
The recommended amount of hashtags is a guide of what you should be looking to add to you post, but this is upto you and your judgement for what works for you, may not work for me. I have learned what works for me is specific targeting rather than opening a wide range, which will not get me the popularity I want. So what about the 30 hashtags which Insta, Facebook and many platforms allows you, well that is a limit you can use and you do not need to use that limit, its about how specific you want to make your post, its about making your post grow with the right hashtags and not get ropped in to use 30 just because you can.
How do you know what hashtags to use?
There are so many hashtags and when we type them onto the platform, there will be guide on how often this hashtag has been used. With this in mind, we would think choose the one with the highest number, that is common sense. However that can back fire as, your post can get lost due to the number of people who may use that hashtag. There are 3 levels of hashtags which are as follows:
Easy: 100K below
Med: 100K - 500K
Hard: 500K - 1 million+
Your aim should be to try and use the hashtags which generally are medium to easy so that your post can grow easily and also if you know that there is a trending hashtag, then I recommend you to use that as that will propel your content a lot quicker.
In a nutshell this is what I recommend!
1. You don’t need to use any more hashtags than what is recommended.
2. Make your hashtags more specific
3. Use hashtags which are trending
