What a fabulous night celebrating the Greater BYPY 2026 Finalists!

Whilst I didn't get to connect with anyone else in my category, I still got to meet plenty of new faces and like-minded young professionals. The sheer amount of talent in the room was something to behold. A HUGE well done to all of the shortlisters!

It was also great to catch up with some familiar faces including some of those I sit on the D&I board with at the Future Faces Chamber of Commerce.

I'm really looking forward to the awards next month and seeing everyone there 🤩

I am going to be composing a Social Media Day workshop for those of you who would like to learn how to find your tone-of-voice, create visuals, write content and post online; this would be a chance to develop your social media skills and take advantage of an interactive experience where no question is a silly question!

A lot of people feel like they should know more than they do about social media, so believe me when I say you’re not alone and you’re in good hands with me. We can navigate this together 💚

It will likely be hosted from 10am-4pm, near Ashby-de-la-Zouch, with tea & coffee included along with some lunch.

If you have any questions, or any ideas on what would be helpful for me to cover in this workshop, I'm all ears. I'd love to tailor the session to answer as many questions as possible, so your feedback matters most. If there's something in particular you struggle with, do let me know!

I think it's time for a re-introduction, don't you? For those who don't know me, I'm Sophie, the founder of Serrano Media. I help businesses stand out and look good by providing them with support for their graphic design, brand design, social media and marketing endeavours.

In a world where things are starting to look a bit ‘copy and paste’, it's important to stand out against the crowd and catch peoples eyes. Not only that, but do to it in the right way.

With a background in print and 10 years experience, I design for all platforms and have a deep understanding for print design as well as digital and branding.

When it comes to branding, this is something I'm very passionate about because there's nothing like starting off on the right foot.

Your branding flows through to everything you do whether that be social media, your website, your print work or your uniform; it's the identity that people will trust, recognise you for and connect with.

Speaking of social media, I manage social media platforms for businesses, posting on their behalf and keeping them present, as well as teaching workshops on how you can best represent your brand yourself when posting your own social media content if you are looking to keep it in-house.

Tonight was simply amazing. 💜

Seven new ladies walked through the door, and each one was welcomed with the kindness, encouragement and support that makes Women Embracing Business so special.

I’m incredibly proud of what this community has become. It’s not just me that creates this atmosphere—it’s every woman in that room. Together, we’ve built something where people feel seen, heard and valued.

Tonight left me feeling truly inspired, and reminded me exactly why I started this journey.

Thank you to every single lady who continues to make WEB such a special place. I can’t wait to welcome even more incredible women to future meetings. 💜

Today I received my headshot from my GBYPY awards interview a couple of weeks ago and it's got me reflecting on how much I've changed in the last 2 years.

My goal in 2024: Go in and do my best.
My goal in 2026: Go in and be myself.

In 2024, I had a script.
In 2026, I had bullet points.

It was more important to me this time to be myself, not force anything, not overthink it and let my work and actions speak for themselves.

Over the last couple of years alone, I have achieved so much in which I'm proud of and in turn have worked with so many other businesses and organisations that I'm equally proud of; because they're all amazing!

Thank you to everyone I've worked and collaborated with in the past few years for being part of my journey, because no matter the outcome for this award, working alongside you all means the world to me 💚

Take an idea from concept to reality with me!
When Lauren told me she had an event coming up and needed a banner and some print design for her stand, I knew we were going to bring something excellent to life.

Together, we assessed the space and created a plan for print that would suit not just this event, but future ones too. When it came to her print design, I wanted to give her products built for longevity and multipurpose use.

From this, we landed on:
• A roller banner displaying her details, website and stunning work (because it speaks for itself).
• Leaflets describing what Feral Forest Photography does, her packages, how to find her online, and of course her beautiful imagery!
• And finally, stickers for the leaflets with a promo code to track where that lead came from.

This was the most versatile and cost effective approach, something I always strive towards for clients, and wow did it turn out great.

Lauren's stand stood out from the get go; of course I went along to support her! The print mixed with her framed imagery, her impeccable eye for decor, and treats and water for furry friends pulled it all together and, most importantly, drew people in!

She took 13 portraits that day and gained 2 bookings from businesses.

When I asked Lauren what she thought of the designs once printed, she said they feel so official and professional, and that it's taken the business to the next level.

I was dead chuffed when she gave me a leaflet to take home... my design brought to life.

Another wonderful netwalking experience thanks to the Federation of Small Businesses - FSB, Katy Draper & The National Forest. What an inspired way to meet new people and make connections whilst engaging in something that's positive for both your physical and mental health.

Personally, I love being surrounded by nature; the animals, the plants and the peace that it brings. So every time I see one of these events pop up, you better believe I'll be there!

It was also lovely to meet so many fantastic professionals and catch up with some familiar faces. I can't wait for the next one!
