Hi, I'm Jess, a 22 year old freelance graphic designer based in Leicester. I've studied graphic design at Leicester College for 4 years, and I'm currently enrolled onto the Foundation Degree in Graphics & eMedia ran by De Montfort University. I've had an interest in graphic design since I was 9 or 10, having spent many afternoons watching my mum run her yahoo group (those where the days!) and crea
ting email signatures in Jasc Paint Shop Pro 7. Having searched the internet high and low for tutorials, I taught myself how to use Jasc Paint Shop Pro 7, soon upgrading to version 9 and Animation Shop, and I too, started my own yahoo group (NoodliciousTags). Thanks to a certain yahoo group I also completed lessons and taught myself basic HTML and soon created my very first website (Unwritten, soon to be re-branded WestFics). As part of a voluntary position on the ReLoad Magazine project ran by Connexions in 2006 I finally made the move from Jasc Paint Shop Pro 9 to Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator CS3. Now having completed 4 years at Leicester College and my 1st year of Foundation Degree, I am looking to start my own graphic design business. It's proven to be a lot of hard work (mainly boring paperwork at the moment!), but I'm extremely excited for what the future holds for me and my little design bubble.
