🎄 Just before we pop off to put the sprouts on, Team Ally wishes you a very merry Christmas & a successful 2026. Thank you to clients, friends & contacts for your wonderful support in 2025!

A few pics here from our Christmas do, which was a great laugh. Good food, a few drinks & bopping around on the dancefloor - the perfect way to round off the year before we tackle the next one!

Is it that time already?!🎅🏼

After a dynamic, busy & exciting year at Ally HQ, we will wrap up for Christmas at midday on Wednesday 24th December, retuning (/rolling) back into the office on Monday 5th January 2026 after a rest & a ton of Baileys.

Thank you to our clients, contacts, family & friends for your business, support & good cheer in 2025 – we can’t wait to see what next year brings.

💜 A unique milestone was achieved on Friday when Team Ally celebrated our first ever retirement!

Jeanette has stepped off the treadmill to enjoy busy days with her family & friends, to travel & to keep her already-immaculate garden in perfect shape. 🌷

Working since 1971, Jeanette started her career with a number of roles in optometry in Manchester before moving into market research, firstly in the field before being recruited to manage a research call centre for a large corporate. Here, she met a young Paul (he says she wasn’t his boss, we’re not so sure)! Following many years there, & still in touch with Paul, Jeanette slowed things down for a while before eventually joining us as an Ally in 2019 to help us out with admin & reporting.

We celebrated Jeanette’s retirement with a lovely lunch & presented the fabled carriage clock, before making her an Honorary Lifetime Ally. We’ll miss Jeanette tons, & we wish her all the very best for a long & happy retirement! 🥰

For a third year, Ally has dusted off our display stand to enjoy a day of connecting with familiar friends & new faces at Forward As One’s annual Trust conference.

Trust heads, teaching staff & the Trust’s central team met at Eccles’ CorpAcq Stadium, giving Paul & James opportunity to chat to delegates about the impact of our visual branding & marketing projects for Trust schools.

It was great to hear feedback from all staff, from TAs to headteachers, sharing their views of their schools' new logos & signage designed by Ally that creates fresh looks, welcoming school settings, & makes a positive influence on the behaviours, mindset & academic achievement of children across the Trust.

Ally is incredibly proud to partner with FA1, supporting the Trust & its impressive growth throughout Greater Manchester & the wider North West for many years. Thanks to the FA1 team for inviting us along again today! ⭐️

And another fun project rolled out this morning! James took charge of this one, devising & implementing a fun Trick or Treat-themed engagement activity for the Pelican Centre to run over the next couple of weeks. 🎃 👻

✈️ Flying high with @1026 (Ormskirk) Squadron RAF Air Cadets!

Ally recently supported Ormskirk’s RAF Air Cadets squadron with the design of its new minibus, which has just been unveiled to cadets, staff & sponsors!

The minibus was bought by the squadron’s civilian committee following a busy year of fundraising to transport Air Cadets to activities including flying, Duke of Edinburgh activities, parades, competitions & camps. We wanted to give the squadron a head-turner of a bus that cadets would be proud of – we reckon we delivered!

We had a sneak preview at the office as it made its way back to Ormskirk, ready for the reveal. Huge thanks to the brilliant Liam at Kraken Signs for the graphics installation!

Royal Air Force Air Cadets is a fantastic organisation for young people aged 12-18, giving cadets opportunities to fly, learn lifelong skills like First Aid & leadership, & take part in money-can’t-buy events. If you have a young person in need of a hobby that will keep them busy & give them skills for life, check out your local squadron! 💪🏼

🥳 Vicki here, with a special message.

Quite unbelievably, this week I celebrated 10 years of working with Ally, and 10 years of working alongside one of my closest allies, Paul.

It has been a rollercoaster for both of us, during which an awful lot has been learnt about running a business, working with people, marketing, writing, the clients we want to work with and the way we want to work.

We’ve managed to create something really special. Not big or flashy, not chasing after awards or oversharing on LinkedIn, just clients with whom we share a mutual degree of respect and trust, excellent results, working hard, believing in what we're doing, and a decent dose of fun.

We don’t always agree on everything (!), but our vision, values and how we get there has remained true for a decade. As our sector stares down the barrel of the generative (plagiarist...) AI world and the challenges that may present, I'm abundantly confident that no bot can take the place of real human creative skill, reasoning or empathetic understanding - certainly not on the basis of what I've seen so far, anyway. 🥴

So thanks to everyone who’s been part of my 10 years as an Ally, whether colleague, client, friend, contact or long-suffering family member. But especially to Paul for taking a chance on me – a newbie copywriter lacking in experience but with abundant ambition and a bit of stubbornness – a decade ago! Here’s to the next ten (will need a holiday first though).

🎳 Team night - great first job as Social Secretary by James & astonishing bowling performance by the previously-terrible Paul!

The competition was fierce around the pool table, as it appears James & Alex are both hot shots. Paul banished Vicki from his team but it was too late to save the game by that point 😄

Enjoyed it, onto the next one fellas! 😀

🙌🏽 This week, we welcomed local high school student Grace to Ally HQ! We showed her the ropes, introduced her to our clients & work, & she had a look at what each of us does day-to-day. Grace commented on her visit:

"I am a student at St Edmund Arrowsmith, and today I came into Ally for my work experience.

In school, my best subjects are English and Art and Ally does have many links with these.

When I arrived, everyone was very kind and Victoria talked me through a lot of tasks that the company does, and how the company works. Everything was very well explained and I understood all that was going on within Ally.

There are many opportunities and different kinds of jobs involved. I looked at all kinds of different things the company does for different clients and I was impressed at the work I saw. I have learnt a lot during my visit and was glad to be there."
