Complexity is the enemy of inclusion. For , let’s talk about how we use language in marketing.

The official 2026 theme is "Do You See Me?", and being seen starts with being understood. To reach people with learning disabilities, your copy should be straightforward and direct. Speak in the active voice and avoid heavy corporate jargon, idioms, or metaphors that can confuse readers.

Break your text into bite-sized pieces. Use short sentences, clear headings, and simple bullet points.

Providing an alternative "Easy Read" version of long documents - combining simple sentences with clear, supportive imagery - ensures your message leaves no one behind.

Accessibility isn't about dumbing down your content; it's about opening the door for everyone to connect with your brand.

Is your marketing truly inclusive? For , we are highlighting the 2026 theme: "Do You See Me?"

Making your brand accessible means looking closely at your visual design. Good design helps everyone process information more easily. Use clear, simple fonts like Arial or Calibri, and avoid keeping text in blocks over large images.

Keep contrast high, but skip glaring bright backgrounds that can cause visual stress. Pastel or cream backdrops are much easier on the eyes.

Most importantly, ensure the people in your photos reflect the true diversity of your audience. Representation matters, and everyone deserves to see themselves in media.

By working together, we can make digital spaces open, welcoming, and accessible to all.

It's June. Already! If you just did a double-take at the calendar, you are not alone.

We are six months in, and here is the honest question worth sitting with: are you on track? Not in a vague "things are ticking along" way, but genuinely on track.

Are the right people finding you? Is your content converting? Does your marketing feel intentional, or has it just been... happening?

This is the moment to stop, look at the numbers, and make a clear-eyed plan for the second half of 2026. Not a rebrand. Not a massive campaign. Just an honest audit of what is working, what is not, and where your energy will have the most impact between now and December.

That is exactly what a Golddust strategy session is designed to do, so book yours today to slay the second half of 2026.

Go Ruth! Swimming Lake Coniston for We Love Lichfield. Incredible!

For many of us, going for a swim may mean a dip in the local pool or the sea when we’re on holiday. But for Radio & Echo's Ruth Redgate , going for a swim on 20th June means swimming the entire length of Lake Coniston in the Lake District. And what’s more, she’s swimming it to raise funds for We Love Lichfield!

It’s a seriously tough challenge: 5.25 miles in deep, open water which Ruth said should take her 5-6 hours to complete. So, let’s get behind Ruth and support her amazing challenge.

Thank you Ruth, and good luck on 20th June.

Happy ! 🧀 "How does that work with marketing?", we hear you ask. OK, let's have a look at the power of "cheesy marketing."

While ultra-polished campaigns have their place, leaning into a bit of cheese can instantly stop the scroll and raise a smile. Dad jokes, playful puns, and self-aware humour break through the digital noise because they make your business feel human and approachable.

Think of a local bakery posting: "We knead you today!" or a tech brand using a goofy meme to explain a complex update. It works because it’s relatable and disarming.

Don't be afraid to sprinkle a little cheddar on your content strategy. A smile is often the shortest distance between a prospect and a sale!

Happy ! 🎉 Giving back isn't just great for the soul; it’s an incredible booster for your small business.

Rolling up your sleeves for a local cause is the ultimate team-building exercise - nothing unites a squad quite like planting trees or painting a community hub. Beyond the feel-good vibes, it roots your business deeply in local social awareness.

And from a marketing perspective? It shows the authentic, human heart behind your brand. Share your volunteering journey on social media - not in a braggy way, but to inspire your community and spotlight causes that matter. It builds genuine trust that standard ads simply can’t buy.

How does your team give back? Let us know in the comments! 👇

We see you out there wearing all the hats, crushing the daily grind. But when it comes to marketing, even the savviest SMEs hit a few bumps in the road.

Here are the three most common slip-ups we see (and how to dodge them):

🤦‍♀️ The "Throwing Spaghetti" Strategy: posting on every platform without a clear plan. Spoiler: It just leaves a mess. Pick two channels where your audience actually hangs out and slay 'em!

🤦‍♀️ Ignoring the Data: if you aren’t tracking what works, you’re essentially flying blind in a fog. Check your analytics - they’re your best friend!

🤦‍♀️ The "Me, Me, Me" Show: talking solely about your product instead of solving your customer's burning problems. It's a big turn off. A definite no no.

Marketing shouldn't feel like a guessing game. Focus your strategy, track your wins, and put your audience first.

AI is a fantastic tool, but it has a fundamental limitation: it is only ever as good as the prompts you give it. If you ask it generic questions, it will give you generic answers.

To unlock truly game-changing marketing strategy, you still need human creativity, deep industry insight, and real intuition.

That is exactly why we are opening up a special "Brain Pick" offer with our very own marketing genius, Hannah.

This isn't about rigid, copy-and-paste formulas. It’s a dedicated session to bounce ideas, challenge your thinking, and unearth those golden opportunities unique to you.
